Truth Soul Armor/Cobian Sandals Surf Contest a Success

Sean Bullington of Christian Surfers International flew down from Florida to organize the second annual Truth Soul Armor/Cobian Sandals Surf Contest in Tamarindo Aug. 23 and 24. The event drew a few hundred people in the on-again-offagain rain. In thigh- to chest-high waves, Josimar Fuentes won the open category for a $500 prize, while Shannon Vacca won the women’s category and $250.

Witch’s Rock threw a heck of a party on Saturday night and raffled off a nine-foot longboard. Banana Surf and Secret Spot Surf donated prizes, and Babylon Club gave $50 for “best air,” which went to Isaac Vega.
