NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific – West swell maxing out Saturday afternoon and diminishing on Sunday. Sets will be 1-2 foot overhead in Guanacaste at 2 hours before high tide with a period of 9 seconds. Background SW swell also giving waves a push for southern Costa in the chest to head high range. Increasing through Saturday and then dropping down to waist high by Tuesday.

Caribbean – Friday the ESE swell will begin to show in the afternoon, with waves in the head high range. Then expect it to grow to 2+ overhead by Sunday and a 10 second period, with more strength added early next week. A great weekend for a surf contest!

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS:
The swell is still pulsing and we've got a well overhead westerly swell. Hard offshores all day long, good waves, good shape, combed out. Bring spring suits. The water's cold because of the welling up of the offshores.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves):
It will be dawn patrol and we should have good surf if the swell holds. Double sessions, morning and afternoon. The windows will be long, and if the swell holds, it will be excellent.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA:
All the points in Playa Grande are working, and it gets bigger as you move towards Tamarindo.

Hey Its Chuck from Jaco and the surf has come up again ! Low tide 3-5ft faces and closed out here , have to open the shop up so won't surf til the afternoon !

Hola soy Chuck de Jaco y las olas han subida , 3-5 pies pero cerrone por la marea baja , ojala la marea alta de la tarde va a poner las olas mejor !

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves):
Great weather and fun ridable waves as a worst case scenario, most of the boys won't be here they will be in Viejo for the contest!

Buena clima y olas bacilon y no vamos a tenir mucho surfos por el torneo en Viejo !

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA:
If the swell holds check Roca Loca or Escondida and of course there's some good ones in Tulin.

Si aguant el oleaje Roca Loca y Escondida , y siempre con oleaje del oeste Tulin es el lugar !

1. Tamaño y consistencia de las olas esta semana en:
Playa Espadilla: Esta semana las olas han estado fuertes, limpias,
consistentes, un poquito agresivas, de dirección derecha y su tamaño
aproximado es de más o menos 3 pies en marea alta.
Playa Playitas: Para esta semana no tenemos mucha información acerca de
esta playa. Solamente sabemos que las olas han estado grandes.
Isla Damas: Sin información.

2. ¿Qué esperan el próximo fin de semana con respecto al tiempo y las
olas?.
Durante esta semana el tiempo ha estado muy bueno a ecepción de
ayer(23-1-2001) que estuvo lluviendo por más o menos 30 minutos; ¡pero
que no es nada!, así que necesito decir que: El tiempo va a estar
buenisimo para el próximo fin de semana. Con respecto a las olas,
consideramos que estarán igual que la semana pasada(bastante buenas).

3. ¿Cuál es el mejor lugar para surfear en su área el próximo fin de
semana?.
Porque no tenemos mucha información, no contestaremos esta pregunta.

4. ¿Hay noticias o eventos venideros?.
Sí, "la fiesta de la que les hablé la semana pasada está muy buena y hay
mucha gente ahí.

5. Las mareas altas para la próxima semana serán a las:
Sábado: 4:40 a.m y 5:07 p.m.
Domingo: 5:16 a.m y 5:42 p.m.

Playa cocles 4/5 feet left and right breaking little smoothy, best time to surf early in morning before the wind come. SALSA brava no well conditions for breaking
