NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - It drops Sunday and through Monday only a few overhead peaks will show. Tuesday is headhigh, and the next swell arrives Wednesday from the SSW at 14 sec. again, only pushing surf up to 1-2 foot overhead at bigger spots. Saturday more 1-2 foot overhead surf arrives from the South. These wave sizes will stay about the same for the following week with more swell from the SW as well..

Caribbean - The right coast is quiet for the start of the week, but on Tuesday a few head high waves hit the beach in the morning and then strengthen to overhead throughout the day. Wednesday has surf 1-2 foot overhead, with bigger sets that show up through Thursday morning. Fades all day then leaves waist to chest leftovers Friday and into the weekend.

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Tamarindo surf right now is waist to chest with very light off-shores before 10 AM. The water is warm and crystal clear inspite of the very rainy afternoons this week. Las olas en Tamarindo estan de a la cintura de al pecho con el viento off-shore antes de las 10 AM. El agua es caliente y clara como cristal a pesar de las fuertes lluvias de las tardes en esta semana.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Expect nice late morning surf as the tides move into early afternoon. Rains have been coming late in the day and haven't effected the surf at all. Se puede surfear antes del medio dia este fin de semana con las maresas altas al medio dia. La lluvias han estado empezando en las tardes y no han efectado el surf.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The beach break in Tamarindo has come up with a nice small left and Langosta is always a good choice with small surf from the south. La playa en Tamarindo tiene una buena izquierda pequena y Playa Langosta es siempre una opcion cuando hay olas pequenas que vienen del sur.

** Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: With the morning high tides we have been enjoying nice head high surf conditions in spite of light on shores which kicked in yesterday. The tides will move into the afternoon tomorrow and the off shores will be even dicier. Rain might help.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Pretty decent surf in spite of highly likely on shores during peak tidal conditions. Picture Florida on a good afternoon.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: These swells are hitting well on the north end of the bay. Pick your peak.

** From John at Lyman Photos in Playa Negra/Tamarindo -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Fun and glassy in the mornings with small chest to head high on the occasional sets. Partly cloudy in the mornings with scattered thunder showers in the afternoons.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): More of the same only with more people doing it. Very crowded in the water.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Playa Negra will be the best spot. Low tides in the mornings this upcoming week so go to those spots that break on the lower tides. You know where they are.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Check out the latest killer shots from John Lyman Photos at http://www.tamarindobeach.net/photos_lyman/index.html

** From Harry at Coconut Harrys Surf Shop in Playa Guiones:
Overall size has dropped - we're in the chest to occasional headhigh size now. Best times are from mid-tide rising to high, which is mornings and the wind has been light or offshore. Sunny morning and cloudy, rainier afternoons - welcome to the 'Green Season' :) Pura Vida - Coconut Harry's Surf Shop

** From Jesse at Samara Surf School -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Nice waves at high tide about head high. Light onshore wind, glassing over and turning offshore after the rain. Lower tides bring perfect whitewater and inside waves for beginners.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Swell is supposed in peak on Saturday, the angle of this one is pushing up into our bay better than usuall. Winds should be light all day, offshore before and after storms.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The best surfing spot in Samara is right in front of the Las Brisas Del Pacifico hotel. No crowds or localism, with the waves breaking a little farther off shore.

** From Brice at Land Assurance in Dominical -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Head high and well shaped at mid-tide. Lots of peaky waves created by superimposed waves coming from varying angles. Winds have been light and the weather has been holding for the most part. Great little tubes at lower tides. Good for long boards and beginners at high tide.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): On Sunday, we may have a little bump in size, but don't expect much more than the head high we've been having for a week now.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: There is a strong current pushing south at the beach in Dominical. So, it is best to put in at the river mouth and keep a constant light paddle going northwest. You'll still probably end up at the cell tower.

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The 1-2 foot overhead surf will continue Monday, but will show a decline to overhead on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday has a few 2 foot overhead sets and get more frequent Friday and Saturday is an all day blast from the SSW. Sunday it cools down to overhead again with smaller surf in protected beaches. More SSW expected a week from Thursday.

Caribbean - Surf all week!! Chest to head high waves at the beachbreaks and two feet bigger on the reefs. The current ENE gets replaced Wednesday by another, so it's a foot smaller that day, but otherwise a punchy head high wave can be found everywhere along the coast through next Sunday, when the swell maxes out..
