NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Saturday is still small, with a freak head high set from a long range south swell coming in. Sunday will be back to consistent chest high with head high sets and next Monday through Wednesday gets a foot bigger - overhead at the south facing beachbreaks. Looking past that, back to head high for a few days and in 20 days the first monster SW.

Caribbean - Waist to chest Saturday morning, staying clean and consistent through Sunday. Then on Monday some overhead waves arrive from the north and pick up frequency throughout the day. On Tuesday the sets come in every 20 minutes and Wednesday it grows another foot, switching from the North to the East. Thursday and Friday look big, 1-3 foot overhead peaks from the ESE staying big through next weekend.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/24)

** From John Lyman Photography in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf has been great these past few days. Well overhead on the sets with offshores in the mornings and glassoffs in the afternoons.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Expect overhead sets this weekend. This swell is really south so there are some fast walls on the main peak at Negra. Pick the right wave and it's a muy rapido ride. The weather will be perfect.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: We have low tide in the mornings all this upcoming week with the new moon on Wednesday and that means really low tides in the morning. negra might be a little rocky in the mornings. If you are not into a rock dance, check out Avellanas rivermouth or Little H.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Lyman shoots. Get shot. Bang! http://tamarindobeach.net/photos_lyman/index.html

** From Stephen at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: On shore most of the day with a little remaining cloud cover. Small, 2 feet at most, early morning before the onshores begin is the key. Across the river to Grande has been fun to get away from the crowds.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Supposedly a swell in the making, not expecting much more than 3 feet though. Winds may pick up by Sunday, but those early morning and sunset sessions should prove fruitful.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: I' m heading to Nosara yet again, open beach and should see some fun 3/4 footers. Negra should be a great spot as well.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales:
Tranquilo weekend to recuperate after the Spring Break crowd.

** From Jesse at Samara Surf School -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: There is swell!! some 5 to 6 foot waves, good form. Some fast peaks with long rides. Nice offshore winds in the mornings, warm water and nice waves. The waves were huge two weeks ago, some double over heads rolled in, then it was flat last week. So I had nothing to report!
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): The swell is expected to hold as the new moon is on the 29th. If the swell keeps up the waves could get much bigger, maybe up to 8 feet. Mostly big swells just come in as close outs here in the Samara bay, but the insiders of 6 feet are generally good form. The sky is clouding up early this year, making for some choppy conditions already.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Best break, less crowds and farther offshore always infront of the "Las Brisas del pacifico" Hotel.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Samara doesn't change that much, the biggest thing about to hit is "Semana Santa" in years past the beaches were packed, not enough room to ride your bike in a straight line. This time of year generally brings big waves and a fun carnival in the center of town. Come one, come all and visit us at www.samarasurfschool.com, PURA VIDA

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Playa Nosara -

Consistant headhigh surf and great shape. Winds have stayed off-shore
or light on-shore most of the mornings.

** From Chuck at Walking On Water Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Okay summer is still here , clean glassy fast walls in Jaco water is so clean you can see your shadow on the bottom but its only waist to belly high today , The world is here ,lots of people and plenty of waves at most of our beaches so no reason not to come ! Anyone interested in a 2 bedroom 2 bath house on a small lot with security and pool access with plenty of green areas ? How about for under 100K and 200 yards to fun surf ? Let me know I think we have a great deal to offer ! Thanks Chuck and the crew at W.O.W. surf !

** From Brice at Land Assurance Tree Reforestation in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Great waves even though a bit small have been blessing us here at Dominical. They are from shoulder to head high with good shape. More lefts than rights but enough of both for everyone.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): Looks like the same through Sunday and then possibly a bit more size on Sunday or Monday.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: The entire beach is going off with peaky waves but the current and river water are running northwest and causing a strong offshore push at the river mouth. So, if you surf from the river mouth to the 3 flags, you will spend a good bit of time trying to stay inside.

July 31st, 2006

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Surf is head high to overhead and glassy most of the mornings this week, with sets 2 foot overhead arriving Wednesday afternoon and lasting through Saturday. The powerful SW smacks the Galapagos and that blocks the bulk from hitting the central and north coasts. Sunday morning, it's two feet smaller. Then by Monday, down to chest to head for most of the following week.

Caribbean - Small but fun until Thursday, when a long range tropical system from the ESE pumps consistent chest high surf. Stays chest to head high through Saturday afternoon.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 7/30)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The Charity Surf Classic competition is going on on the beach at this moment. There's a south swell that's giving us head high surf at the higher tides although the wind is on-shore. It has rained on several afternoons this week and looks like it could begin again any time soon.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): There are predicted to be a lot of surfers in the water in Tamarindo, especially at the morning and evening high tides. Se pronostica que habra muchas surfistas en el mar en Tamarindo, especialmente a la marea alta de la manana y a la de la tarde.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The Capitan Suizo would be the choice right now because it's the only place that works with a south wind and fortunately the swell is big enough to break there. El Capitan Suizo sera el mejor lugar ahora porque es el unico lugar que se pone bueno con un viento del sur. El swell es suficiente grande que ahora alli hay olas.

** Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We have a strong, just over head, swell running but the surface conditions are a bit messy with almost still wind. Farely light, well manered, crowd enjoying the last few days.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): The high tides are in the morning for rideable surf and the potential of great surf if it goes off shore for a day or two like it did last week.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Everyone is pretty spread out with the main peak blasting out good lefts in addition to the customary right.

** From Ed at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

Surfers... Today we went to Marbella and we got there pretty late so we had really bad waves.
Big and heavy closed outs, didn't work today, out going tide was bad for our surfing today. there were4 some sets coming in really big, maybe 6/7 ft, but not shoulders at all.
Afternoon was good in the river mouth, back in Tamarindo, with the incoming tide.
Hight tide will be at 7 30 am, so we will get a morning session, let's see what happen...
Pura Vida - Ed

** From John at Lyman Photos in Playa Negra/Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf has been chest to head high on the right tide. Glassy mornings and a few offshore afternoons after the rain squalls.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Should bump up to 1 to 2 feet over head with a great swell direction for us here at Playa Negra. Look for it to back down the first part of the week and then pick way up on Wednesday and Thursday with solid southwest swells. We have the high tide running through the mornings this week and that is a good thing for this upcoming mid week swell.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: This swell will be best at Langosta, just south of Tamarindo. The upcoming mid week swell will be moving perfectly into Playa Negra. Check it out.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: John Lyman Photos at Playa Negra
http://www.tamarindobeach.net/photos_lyman/index.html

** From Harry at Coconut Harrys Surf Shop in Playa Guiones:

Chest to headhigh with occasional bigger set waves. High tides in mornings and afternoons - glassy conditions and cloudy skies with a threat of rain at anytime - welcome to 'green season' in Costa Rica! Pura vida - Coconut Harry

** From Rancho Coral in Esterillos -

Local Climate: Noontime, Air Temp: 94F. Water Temp 87F Direction & Height: South Southwest 4 to 6ft., Sea Surface: Slight Bump, Winds: South 3 MPH, Sunrise: 5:53 AM, Sunset: 6:16 PM; Current Conditions - It is going off here at The Ranch, Pura Vida!

** From Chuck at Walking on Water Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Oh boy the sets are showing this evening ¡ 4-6 ft steady ssw and every half hour a boomer set of 8ft faces plus with long interval and THUMP ¡ Some closeouts but some great waves to be had this evening in Jaco . Saw a young guy from San Jose moderate ability with a few years surfing and he just got the shack of his life on the new FLYER II he bought last week , I think it was almost as good for me when he said Mae CHUCK ,GRACIAS! for helping him pick out the right board as what HE felt when he came out of the barrel ! Anyways there is something to say about Channel Islands manufacturing and that is they are the best ! Pura Vida, Chuck and the CREW at W.O.W. SURF !

** From Brice at Land Assurance in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Head high peaky waves with a few overhead sets mixed in make for good fun at Dominical. Offshore winds ruin the fun, usually in the afternoons. Early mornings seem to be the best.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): Looks like we'll be getting a little bump from the south (193 degrees :-) bringing great waves all weekend.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: For several weeks the current was pushing to the south, but that has turned around and is likely to become more pronounced to the north when the bump reaches us. So, put in down by the cell tower and drift north. Or, in case I've called the thing wrong, just look where all the surfers are and put in at the other end of the beach.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/18)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We have been enjoying classic Playa Grande conditions for both morning and evening sessions during the latter part of this week. The wind is
holding off shore all day, and for the most part, not too strong. Friday evening was almost a steelly glass with nicely shaped, head high, multiple
sets. The ridable waves began coming in at mid tide in the afternoon permitting a four hour plus session and a good vibe in the water.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): The morning session is beginning to swing
into high tide, so conditions look excellent, unless it gets too big. Don't
count on the wind in the afternoon for the next few days.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The peaks in front of the hotel are the
most consistent right now.

** From John Lyman Photography in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf has been shoulder to head high with the sets coming every 20 minutes or so. Bright sunny skies with occasional strong offshores.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Look for shoulder high sets this weekend will the usual sunny and offshore. Maybe an onshore breeze later in the afternoon.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Playa Negra.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Photos are happening at Playa Negra. Check it out at
http://tamarindobeach.net/photos_lyman/index.html

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Playa Nosara -

Chest high with occasional bigger set waves. Offshore winds most of the
morning. High tides early and late in the day. Pura Vida, Coconut Harry

** From Chuck at Walking On Water Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: SMALLER CONDITIONS AT THE MOMENT AROUND SHOULDER HIGH AND CLEAN , HERMOSA IS BETTER SIZED AND GOOD SHAPE , TIDES ARE RIGHT ON FOR THE WEEKEND CREW TOO ! BLESS YOU AND YOURS , CHUCK AND THE CREW AT W.O.W. SURF WHERE SURFING IS WALKING ON WATER- IN A WORLD OF WAVES!

** From Brice at Land Assurance Tree Reforestation in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: As is usual in Dominical, when a nice event like the one we had last week dies off, we usually get some really peaky fun waves. They are breaking about shoulder to head high and are nice from mid through high tide.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): That storm broiling off the coast of Chile will be sending us another batch of sizable waves starting on Sunday. This event won't be quite as big as last week, but there should be overhead sets at the least. We are already experiencing small rains, but not to worry, the sun still rules.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: I think this event should be big enough to set the point on fire, but I don't think it will be big enough to close-out the beach. So, pick your pleasure.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/11)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We enjoyed great over head surf all week as the swell shrunk and then today the wind switched to on shore just as the tide got high enough. WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): High tide is heading for the afternoon sessions and the wind needs to hold at least until noon, which it didn't do on Friday. BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The peak to the right, and in front, of the hotel has been particularly good.

** From Stephen at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Early morning has been the key lately, winds have been strong and making afternoon surf difficult and sloppy. We were looking at about 3 feet and mushy.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): SW swell is looking good, but not until about Tuesday, but the winds will have an effect. Try for early mornings, but don't expect much more than waist high with lots of time between sets.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin d e semana en su area: Early mornings on open facing beaches such as Guiones will have something to mess around on. Grab a longboard and have fun!
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Crowds from USA spring breakers, get out early to avoid.

** From John Lyman Photography in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We've had it all this week. Big good surf, small fun surf, hard offshores and pleseant sea breezes. The upcoming week will have more surprises too.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): This weekend sees chest to headhigh waves with light offshores in the mornings and maybe a bit onshore in the afternoons. Look for it to start picking up out of the south Monday and peak Tuesday with headhigh and a few overhead sets. This swell is really south and probably won't hit Negra as hard as last weeks south swell. It backs down to fun stuff for the second half of the week.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: It's low tide in the mornings now and coming up on a full moon. Keep that in mind when you choose where to surf and then check out Avellanas rivermouth when the swell starts showing.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: If you're in Tamarindo, get some photos of your session. John Lyman Photos,,, lymanphoto@... or

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Playa Nosara -

Hola for Nosara (Playa Guiones). Surf is shoulder high with occassional bigger set waves and good shape. Winds have been offshore and/or light all week. Contact Matt Adame from Soul Arch Photography for some great shots of last week's CNS contest.

** From Jesse at Samara Surf School in Playa Samara -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The
swell is back! 3 to 5 foot waves rolling in. Best conditions are through the 6 hour span of high tide. The tides are lower now so the waves aren't as full. Easier to catch. A little choppy, soft peaks with great mid day seshs. Occasional off shore winds, for perfect wave conditions.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): The swell expected to hold over the weekend, but will back down to the normal Samara sized waves. Perfect whitewater conditions, Great for beginners and children. Lots of waves to catch, good inside break, nice small waves.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The best surfing spot in Samara is right in front of the Las Brisas Del Pacifico hotel. No crowds or localism, with the waves breaking a little farther off shore.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: The conditions in Samara are good for all surfers to come and enjoy!! So if you've always wanted to learn surfing come on down or over! Always great conditions for beginner to intermediate lessons! Pura Vida www.samarasurfschool.com

** From Chuck at Walking On Water Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Boy oh BOY ! What great waves we have had here in the Central Pacific , I have been surfing for at least 2 - 3 hrs a day every day for 10 days and it's been clean peaky with favorable winds until the suns too hot anyways ! Todays waves were 3-5 ft faces with a bigger one here and there super nice shape and yes quite a few guys out but everyone was nice enough and shared a few with the less fortunate souls who didn't paddle so well, saw a couple of guys out on the outside reef getting some long slow sliders too but the middle bowl was just unreal and the the catacombs section just started going off with the higher tide , whata great day and wish you were here ! Oh first person to correctly name the spot I surfed today gets a free W.O.W. surf T-SHIRT ! SEND ME AN E-MAIL ! Pura Vida , Chuck and the crew at W.O.W. SURF where surfing is truly WALKING ON WATER !

** From Brice at Land Assurance Tree Reforestation in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Shoulder high and a little closed out.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves):Finally, the first big southern of the season should hit this Sunday. Should have waves well overhead coming in with great shape (looks to be about 188 degrees). Then, if the weather man is at all honest, we should have another hit from the same direction on the following weekend. Get your short boards ready!!!
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA:I imagine every beach in southern Costa Rica will be going off by Monday. Certainly, the beach at Dominical and "The Point" will be working. If you are looking for smaller waves, I'd go down to Uvita (el Chamán/La Colonia) or Ventanas.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/3)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We waited all week for a little swell and are still waiting. The tides have been over 10 feet in the last few days which makes mid-tide a better time to get out there and ride the micro-waves. :) Winds have varied between hard off-shore, perfect off-shore and mysteriously on-shore.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Forecasts don't seem to call for a change. No se pronostica ningun cambio.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Head south to Playa Giones where there are always waves. The road is bad, but it's worth it. Vaya al sur a Playa Giones done siempre hay olas. La calle esta mala, pero vale la pena.

** From Stephen at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Slight on shore winds currently, should settle down this evening for high tide sunset surf. Waves should be around 2 feet, mushy but ideal for learning. Tides are great for dawn patrol and sunsets all around.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Decent swell arriving late Sunday, Monday maybe. Hoping to see 5 feet by mid day Monday. Winds should continue to be mild in the mornings, breezy in the afternoons. Get up early and take advantage of the calmness and tides. Chill out for the afternoon, and get on it again in the evening!
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: When this swell starts coming in, Nosara, Avellanas Rivermouth, and Negra should be great all weekend and building through the week.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Don't miss the next stop of the national circuit in Nosara this weekend! competition is still very tight and this should be another amazing display of Costa Rican surfing!

** From John Lyman Photography in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Today the waves were very small. Perfect conditions with clear sunny skies and light offshores and no waves. But.....
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Expect the waves on Saturday to start picking up out of the east with head high to well overhead sets and by Sunday triple overhead and macking on the giant boil way outside.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: It will be pretty flat most places but Playa Negra will be getting the focus of this major east swell so pack a lunch and head to Negra for the swell of the year.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: Killer surfing photos. John Lyman Photos,,, lymanphoto@... or
http://tamarindobeach.net/photos_lyman/index.html

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Playa Nosara -

Surf is chest high, some set waves bigger and best time is late day as high tide pushes in. The National Circuit is here in Guiones this weekend, March 4/5. Pura Vida! www.coconutharrys.com

** From Jesse at Samara Surf School in Playa Samara -

Surf is back up in beautiful Playa Samara... The waves yesterday evening were 4 foot, great form and long rides! Soft peak, great for intermediate surfers. Even a bit of glass to add a perfect wave mix. The swell is not expected to hold, therefore Samara should be back to it's normal summertime level of 3 foot waves, great whitewater for beginners. Best surf spot right infront of the Las Brisas del Pacifico hotel. Come on over and surf with us. Pura Vida, Sunrise @ Jesse's Surf school.

** From Brice at Land Assurance Tree Reforestation in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Shoulder high and nicely shaped (although a tad bit closed out) from mid through high tides. No wind and perfect sunny days makes the small waves bearable.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este > fin de semana (clima y olas): Looks like we've got the same small waves but coming more from the south. Should make for a little better shape.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a > surfear este fin de semana en su area: With small waves the beach is always "crowded". The river mouth is breaking well, but don't bother trying north of the mouth. It is closing on the beach. To the south looks good all the way to Roca Verde, but I've only been surfing the north end of the beach.
