AREA REPORTS (sent in on 1/20 or posted)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Pico Grande had a few head high days this week, but other than that surf had been small and winds strong. At present the waves are about waist high and excellent for learning. The water is cool and very clear. Habia unos dias de olas de a la cabeza en Pico Grande esta semana, pero mas eso el surf ha sido pequeno y el viento fuerte. En este momento, las olas estan de a la cintura y perfectas para aprendizes. El agua es fresca y clara.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): No change is predecited for the next five days or so. No se pronostica ningun cambio para por lo menos cinco dias.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Langosta has had much better surf than Tamarindo this week. Keep an eye on Pico Grande incase it starts lining up those rights again. Langosta ha tenido olas mucho mejores que Tamarindo esta semana. Siga mirando Pico Grande por si acaso empieza a tirar las derechas otra vez.

** From Keith at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo - (1/19)

Today, we had the graduation trip to la finca. the waves were very fun. it was about chest high to a little overhead and clean. To see the pix, go to - www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com

** From Harry at Coconut Harrys Surf Shop in Playa Guiones -

It's waist-chest to occasionally bigger around the high tides - we've had pretty consistent offshores for several days, holding up the faces and creating some real fun surf. The holiday crowds are gone, so plenty of room for everyone now. Pura Vida, Coconut Harry

** From Andrea at Waves CR Surf Camp in Playa Hermosa -

The meeting to protest the 14 story condo project on Playa Hermosa Beach is at Cabinas las Olas Sunday 21 at 7 oclock at night. We have hired a lawyer : alvaro masis : alvaro.masis@... This person from minae was part of the board that established playa hermosa as a refugio..he already sent inspectors to check it out.. jorge.gamboa@... We know right know as a FACT they have no type of permits or estudio impacto ambiental...but theyhave already messed up with the sand dunes, and put up signs...everywhere.... Hermosa does not even have the water to hold such infrastructure... Why are developers so unconscious of this?...Hermosa is a dangerous beach for swimmers...the sand is black and cannot even sunbathe becuase you dehydrate...and all that land they plan to build on is a swamp, and an Estuary.... Anyway...It just breaks my heart to see how easy we have sold our country.
