NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Slowly fading SW swell keeps it head high Tuesday and Wednesday, but only chest high Thursday and waist to chest Friday. Saturday is still small, with a freak head high set from a long range south swell coming in. Sunday will be back to consistent chest high with head high sets and next Monday through Wednesday gets a foot bigger - overhead at the south facing beachbreaks. Looking past that, back to head high for a few days and in 20 days the first monster SW.

Caribbean - Surf chest high on Tuesday with some bigger sets every 20 minutes. More solid chest to head high Wednesday through Friday and then dying out to waist to chest by Saturday morning. Nothing big coming until next Wedsnesday from the East.

AREA REPORTS (sent in on 3/18)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We have been enjoying classic Playa Grande conditions for both morning and evening sessions during the latter part of this week. The wind is
holding off shore all day, and for the most part, not too strong. Friday evening was almost a steelly glass with nicely shaped, head high, multiple
sets. The ridable waves began coming in at mid tide in the afternoon permitting a four hour plus session and a good vibe in the water.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): The morning session is beginning to swing
into high tide, so conditions look excellent, unless it gets too big. Don't
count on the wind in the afternoon for the next few days.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The peaks in front of the hotel are the
most consistent right now.

** From John Lyman Photography in Playa Negra -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf has been shoulder to head high with the sets coming every 20 minutes or so. Bright sunny skies with occasional strong offshores.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): Look for shoulder high sets this weekend will the usual sunny and offshore. Maybe an onshore breeze later in the afternoon.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Playa Negra.

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Playa Nosara -

Chest high with occasional bigger set waves. Offshore winds most of the
morning. High tides early and late in the day. Pura Vida, Coconut Harry

** From Chuck at Walking On Water Surf Shop in Jaco -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: SMALLER CONDITIONS AT THE MOMENT AROUND SHOULDER HIGH AND CLEAN , HERMOSA IS BETTER SIZED AND GOOD SHAPE , TIDES ARE RIGHT ON FOR THE WEEKEND CREW TOO ! BLESS YOU AND YOURS , CHUCK AND THE CREW AT W.O.W. SURF WHERE SURFING IS WALKING ON WATER- IN A WORLD OF WAVES!

** From Brice at Land Assurance Tree Reforestation in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: As is usual in Dominical, when a nice event like the one we had last week dies off, we usually get some really peaky fun waves. They are breaking about shoulder to head high and are nice from mid through high tide.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): That storm broiling off the coast of Chile will be sending us another batch of sizable waves starting on Sunday. This event won't be quite as big as last week, but there should be overhead sets at the least. We are already experiencing small rains, but not to worry, the sun still rules.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: I think this event should be big enough to set the point on fire, but I don't think it will be big enough to close-out the beach. So, pick your pleasure.
