NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The whole coast is enjoying good surf conditions, headhigh
surf with sets 1-3 feet overhead with a 12 second period. The big
sets become fewer on Tuesday through Thursday, but return Friday.
Expect bigger surf to hit southern beaches by next Sunday from a
South and SW combo.

Caribbean - The Caribbean picks up a tiny bit, key word tiny, with
surf chest high Sunday with scattered head high sets. Returns to
waist to chest Sunday, a foot smaller Monday and remains dribble
until next Thursday. By Thursday afternoon, a small ESE swell pushes
in some more chest high surf on the beachbreaks.

AREA REPORTS

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -
We have been enjoying a nice over head swell. Friday the wind came
off shore as the tide dropped in the morning and we had about two
hours of excellent surf.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): Since the tides are high in the
morning and the swell is holding at a good size for our break, we
are expecting good conditions. If it rains and glasses off, the
afternoon double session is still a possibility.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: Our end of the bay has waves
at every peak. Chicken head rock has been interesting.

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Nosara -
Hola form Playa Guiones (Nosara) It's 2-3 ft overhead on set waves
and LOTSA fun - good shape. Glassy mornings (of course!) Christian
from Garza is 'killing it' here - see the pic on the CRSURF
homepage. Pura Vida, Coconut Harry www.coconutharrys.com

** From the Samara Surf School in Playa Samara -
Swell has backed down to pretty much nothing. Good for beginners
with plenty of white water to learn on. Windy conditions creating
hard to catch choppy 3 foot waves. El aumento de las olas se ha
reducido a prácticamente nada.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Qué va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): For the weekend conditions and
size predicted the same. Swell seems to be rising for next week as
the new moon approaches.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar para
the Las Brisas Del Pacifico hotel, no crowds white water waves crash
far enough out avoiding the mini shore break.
NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y días especiales: Great beginner
surfing for Samara Beach. Bring your friends and enjoy the calm
ocean and soft waves. Muy buen surfeo para principiantes en Samara
Beach.
suaves - Pura Vida

** From Chuck at Chosita del Surf Shop in Playa Jaco -
Hey Greg , waves are okay if a bit windy in the shoulder to 2 ft
overhead out front . Should have had some nice glass with the rain
but came way late ! No problem, unpacking 40 new Channel Islands
surfboards so the boys get to choose what they want . Pavones unreal
last Fri. A.m. before the world showed up at pushing double overhead
lines . Not perfect but nice 300 yd long waves and some barrels .
Weather is changing so be ready for classic rainy season conditions
here with the peakier fun beachbreak being the norm. Come on down ,
airfare is inexpensive and Grupo Taca is being easier on board fees
than they were so what are you waiting for ? Chuck and the Crew at
W.O.W. surf.

** From Rancho Coral in Esterillos -
Local Climate: Partly Sunny, Air Temp: 91F. Water Temp 87F,
Direction & Height: Southwest 4-6ft, Sea Surface: Glassy, Wind:
South 0-5 MPH, Sunrise: 5:22 AM, Sunset: 5:50 PM, Current
Conditions: The West Reef is starting to go off, Terrazzas and upper
Hermosa should be really good but, expect Roca Loca to be the Spot
for the weekend which means we won't be there, PURA VIDA!!!!

** From Brice at Land Assurance Reforestation Services in Playa
Dominical -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Waves are mediumish (shoulder to
head high) and somewhat closed. Strong currents kept most people off
the beach but it was worth paddling through. Waves from the north
creating more rights than lefts.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Offshore wind til
9:00 am, onshore til 3:00 pm, afternoon rains probable. Wave heights
and conditions should continue through the weekend.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: The beach or Hermosa.
The currents are running south so start at the north end of the
beach by the river.

** From Wendy at Cashew Hill Jungle Lodge in Puerto Viejo -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - 2 - 4 feet
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND - waves will increase this weekend and a
new swell is expected on Monday or Tuesday.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - Beach Break, Cocles
and maybe Salsa Brava by Sunday
