NATIONAL FORECAST
Pacific - Waves from the SSW come in 1-2 foot overhead Saturday and
drop a foot each day Sunday and Monday. By Tuesday expect chest to
head high surf, with a rare overhead set. Another SW pulse appears
next Friday, with a 13 second period and sets a foot overhead. This
will last only two days and afterwards drops back to head high for
the following week.

Caribbean - Flat to tiny conditions for the weekend and into next
week. If you see some knee high waves, take them. Knee to waist high
surf returns next Friday and sticks around for next weekend.

AREA REPORTS

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -
The south swell is here along with a stiff south wind. Tamarindo's
waves are breaking at about head high at the high tide but the wind
is messing it up for us. Langosta is breaking overhead on the
outside. Watch out for currents near estuaries and rock reefs.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): It's crazy-hot right now. We
should have good waves all weekend; we'll just have to see what the
wind does. Esta insoportablemente caliente ahora. Tendremos buenas
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The pick right now is Capitan
Suizo. That's the only place where a south wind is actually off-
shore.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -
It's true the crowds have eased, however so have the consistent off
shore conditions. The surf was excellent in the just overhead range
at the beginning of the week, but has become very tricky as the high
tide moved into the afternoon. The overhead swell conditions are
perfect for Playa Grande if the wind cooperates. Thurs. the wind
actually came on shore early in the morning and although some of us
slipped down to the Tamarindo River mouth on the service road and
caught some smooth conditions for in coming, it was still on shore
for the entire session.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): The early on shores are tipical
for this time of the year and are not the death nell for our break.
There will still be plenty of off shore days well into May. The
afternoon tides lower the probability of a super session, unless it
rains, which hasn't happened here yet even though I'm hearing
reports of rain further south.
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: We are tucking down in the
bay to find smoother conditions and earlier tidal conditions.
Tamarindo is only 5 min. from us on the service road and should be
interesting this week end during in coming tide.

** From Coconut Harry's Surf Shop in Nosara -
Hola from Playa Guiones (Nosara)! Surf is 1 ft overhead on set waves
and forecast to build over this weekend. Oh yeah, NO CROWDS! The
Santa Cruzians sporting cool SurfTech boards just left - these guys
RULED here! Their infamous leader, Travis Watkins, promises to
return in November for some WARM water surf! Jessinia Alfaro (from
Nosara) took a 4th place in last weekend's contest held in Hermosa
(Jaco) - she took off on BIG set waves (& made it) - pura vida!
Coconut Harry -www.coconutharrys.com

** From the Samara Surf School in Playa Samara -
A full moon swell has hit. 8 foot close outs rolling in, expected to
change to 5-7 foot good form by high tide. No wind, sunny days.
buena forma y marea alta. Nada de viento, días soleados.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
conditions choppy. Wave size estimated to stay 4 to 6 feet, good
form. Glassy after rain storm.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -
and clean break infront of the Las Brisas del Pacifico hotel. Great
inside for beginners and easy to get out for bigger waves.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales:
Samara has great waves for beginners to take their first take of
surfing. And with the bigger swell here offers soft and easy waves
for the more advanced..

** From Rancho Coral in Playa Esterillos -
Local Climate: Partly Sunny, Air Temp: 91F. Water Temp 87F,
Direction & Height: South Southwest 4-6ft, Sea Surface: Glassy,
Wind: South 0-5 MPH, Sunrise: 5:32 AM, Sunset: 5:49 PM, Current
Conditions: The West Reef is going off, Mystos and Sanctuaries are
triple the size top to bottom heavy barrels with my tourons calling
it 15 feet. No Grasshopper it's just a little six footer. Don't be
afraid summer is here, see you in The Juice, Y'all Done Heard Of Me?
PURA VIDA!!!!

** From Brice at Land Assurance Reforestation Services in Playa
Dominical -
AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - This is a report from my bed
where I can see the waves but not feel them. Got the flu for the
best waves I've seen in a good while. Clearly overhead, southern
swell giving good shape at the beach.
WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Same for tomorrow
but tapering off on Sunday (just when I'll be feeling well enough to
go out...sob!)
BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - The beach is fine.El
mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: I'll bet the
point is great at low tide.
