AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop (& Surf Lessons) in Tamarindo -

The wind has been a little more calm this week, so that water isn't
as cold as it was last week. The waves are pretty small--two to
three feet at high tide.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): It looks like another weekend of
small surf in Tamarindo. Lots of sun for mid-day sessions. Parece
Mucho
sol para surfear al medi dia.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: Langosta should have the best
wave within walking distance. Playa Grande will be nice but is
usually crowded on the weekends.

** Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

Near perfect head high to overhead surf running all week. Some
deterioration in shape on Thurs. with the larger sets and then
straightening out uncharacteristically at the lower tides.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): It looks good if the swell holds
or doesn't get too big.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The entire bay has good surf
at some tide. Yesterday some surfers started at the Tamarindo River
mouth at dawn, moved to Baulas at 3/4, then Playa Grande at full and
going out and finished at Baulas. Came back for grub and the caught
Tamarindo River mouth at dusk. Breaks which are all 5 min. from each
other in Playa Grande. Unfortunately, they slept in today and missed
dawn patrol.

** Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Surf has been epic every day this
week, finally getting smaller today but still good. The rivermouth
looked better than Ollie's, with 2-3 second makeable barrels. Its
been sick. I'm not sure whats up with this next swell, plus some
heavy winds from American Samoa may bring a new direction swell to
the area?....I'm no weatherman so while you're figuring it out I'll
be out surfing. pura vida! www.witchsrocksurfcamp.com * One of our
guys from WRSC Josymar is now ranked 4th....he's one of the new
sponsored WRSC surfers.

** From Coconut Harry in Playa Guiones (Nosara) -

Surf is overhead with great walls and long rides. Wind has been
turing onshore about midday, but backing off again around 4:30 pm.
Size has diminished a little from earlier this week - still plenty
of "juice". BIC surfboards now available in Costa Rica - new
shipment arriving this week - call me at 682-0574 or email me at
surfa@... Pura Vida, Coconut Harry - www.coconutharrys.com

JACO & HERMOSA

** From Tommy at Rancho Coral in Esterillos -

Local Climate: Warm Sunny, Air Temp: 91F. Water Temp 87F, Direction
& Height: SW 4ft. Plus Sets, Sea Surface: Glass, Wind: South 0-3
MPH, Sunrise: 6:00AM, Sunset: 5:35 PM, Current Conditions: We have
had awsome swell this week. It goes down for a a couple feet later
today and comes back a couple of feet for Sunday, PURA VIDA!!!! Pick
