High Tide: 7.86 ft at 2:15 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Swell from the WNW continues to greet the Guanacaste coast
with overhead conditions and a few bigger bombs every hour. Be sure
to get in a morning sesh to enjoy the offshores, and then be
pleasantly surprised when the winds go offshore again in the
afternoon. Big tide pull with the full moon on Saturday. The overhead
surf sticks around all week, but will be 1-2 foot smaller down south
until next Thursday. It's a good swell for Witches.

Caribbean - The macked out double overhead+ East swell will not
fizzle through the weekend, so watch for some dangerous currents. By
Monday it drops to a managable 1 foot overhead and by Tuesday it's
chest to head high. Wednesday you're wondering if the ever was a
swell, topping off sets at waist to chest. But next Thursday you'll
see the stirrings of a new SE beast, looking good going into next
weekend.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the best surf instructor in Tamarindo -

Tamarindo has been blessed with waves from the north and west for the
last week and a half. Size ranges from overhead in Langosta, to
shoulder high at the rivermouth and waist to chest in front of
Pedros. It's been breaking in front of the Diria and all along the
middle section of the beach which only sees waves this time of year.
The ripping off-shores have made it tough to get into.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): The swell was smaller yesterday but is
prediced to pick back up. Expect a lot of wind and cold water.
Espere mucho viento y agua fria.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
permite.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande:

The twisty, lopsided, swell has been powerful, but not too big all
week, with "puuurfect" over head conditions Thursday at high tide.
The off shores have been stiff, but manageable here in Playa Grande
since Monday. Yesterday the wind finally let off in the afternoon and
turned on shore.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): The good surf conditions should hold
for the week end with the dropping swell. Next week the afternoon
wind conditions at high tide will be the key element.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: This swell is hitting the main
peaks just right. Some of our guests have been slipping down the
service road to the elusive Tamarindo Estuary break for incoming and
catching it.

DOMINICAL & OSA

** From the Green Iguana Surf Camp in Dominical -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -Dominical. Wave heights have been
around head high, some sets a bit overhead, but closed out and
without form.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -Dominical. It
appears that a south south west swell wants to come in, but as I
mentioned before, the form has been horrible. Weather wise, it has
been hot, hot, hot, with an occasional shower in the
afternoon-evening.
tarde -noche.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -Dominical. If the wave
heights jump up a bit, maybe the point, if not, we're stuck with
beach break Dominical.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Today Dominical celebrated being awarded
the "blue flag" for having a clean beach, and for having a turtle
reserve, where turtle eggs are nested, and cared for, number, and
then released into the ocean. Noticias y dias especiales:Hoy
