High Tide - 9.26 ft. at 5:54 AM
Low Tide - (-0.75) ft. at 11:56 AM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - This weekend will see more surf in the chest to head high
range, with a few overhead sets coming from the SSW. This swell came
up from Peru, and is accompanied by another down south by Tahiti,
producing more waves per set. The swells die out Monday and by
Tuesday should be small up north, from waist to chest high, and chest
to head high in the central and southern zones. This trend continues
to the weekend, when another SSW swell should arrive. One nice thing
are the tides, with high tide at dawn and dusk providing two classic
beachbreak session daily.

Caribbean - Now is not the time for diving, there is surf!! Waves
head high to two foot overhead on some of the sets. Will get more
consistent by Sunday and for the rest of the week, the size should
remain the same. Time to check those reef breaks. Best to wake up
early, when the winds are non-existent.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diane, the best surf instructor in Tamarindo -

We had a one-day swell on Tuedsay of this week, but now we're back to
shore break, especially since the tides are so high. It's been
unusually cloudy for February and the winds have been going onshore
in the late morning.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
It should be interesting, seeing as the wind isn't behaving the way I
would have expected. Morning is definately the time to surf whether
we get more waves or not.
portando my raro. Definativamente la manana es el tiempo para
surfear, suban las olas o no.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
Not much is going on in Tamarindo right now and the afternoons by the
estuary have more surfers than waves. It would be a great weekend to
strap the board on the car and go on a little trip!

** From Carrie and Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

The shoulder high, silky, glassy, dawn patrol on Thurs. was classic.
It was very fishy. A ten pound, jumping bonito practically landed in
my lap and I surfed over the top of a 5 foot bull shark in two feet
of clear water. Not for the squeamish. The window only lasted for a
little over an hour as the tide fell, then the wind switched to
onshore in the afternoon and blew out the afternoon session. The
evening glass off was ridable, but sloppy.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
The high tides are moving into the morning with great wind conditions
and the windows are expanding every day. Great conditions for surfing
if the swell holds or jumps a little.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
The focus seems to be in front of the hotel right now.

JACO & HERMOSA

** From Tommy at Fuego del Sol in Playa Hermosa -

Local Climate: Sunny, Air Temp: 97f, Water Temp: 87f, Wave Height &
Direction: SW 3-4ft. (back of the wave) Wind: West, 0-5 mph Sunrise:
5:57AM Sunset: 5:48 PM High Tide: 07:06 PM / 9.45 ft Low Tide: 12:43
PM / -0.32 ft. It's picking up today with sets hitting the outside
reefs. We have west winds making for great offshores here. We are in
for a good Weekend! Look for tonight's session to be one of those
dreams are made of, PURA VIDA!!!! Costa Rica Extended Forecast- Sat
should see a Z-Lander heading in at 200-220 degrees for some fun six
foot surf but, not as much juice as last weekend's swell. We see this
one dying down Monday at two to three feet.

** From Chuck at Chosita del Surf in Jaco -

Chuck here ,fresh out of the water after a super fun longboard
session with clean 3-4 ft faces and decent shape, seems to be abit of
something new out there too ?

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
Fantastic tides for this weekend , mareas fantasticas para Jaco esta
fin de semana PROVECHASE ! Ciao PURA VIDA !
