TIDES *for Friday - add 50 min. each day after

High Tide - 7.78 ft. at 8:57 AM
Low Tide - 2.08 ft. at 3:12 PM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - No, the occasional rumble is not just the 1-2
overhead surf pounding the beach, there have been a couple
of minor earthquakes, too. But the waves aren't quitting,
just dropping off a little this Sunday, back to head high
to overhead with a 15 second period. Then by Monday it
grows by another foot, coming from the SSW with a 14 second
period. Another drop off on Thursday and Friday, and then
WHAM - another SSSW (190) swell fills in with surf in the
1-3 foot overhead range. Check those south-facing beaches
from Saturday to next Tuesday.

Caribbean - Another ENE wind swell is kicking up surf in
the waist to chest high range for the weekend, with maybe a
bigger set sneaking in. It picks up to a solid chest high
by Tuesday, before dropping back down to knee to waist for
next weekend. A good time to check out the Pacific coast.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:

What a great week! There have been shoulder to overhead
waves all over town. The river mouth has been rideable at
all tides for several days, Pico Pequeno swarming with
short boards and even Capitan Suizo has been head high.
Wow! A few onshore afternoons, but generally even the wind
has been cooperative.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

Expect to surf a lot! There's no bad time to go to the
rivermouth and surf with Robert, Wingnut and co. who are
here for the surf n' turf. Espere surfear mucho!

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor

The rivermouth! There are lefts, rights, barrels, whatever
you want. Suizo also sounds like it's worth the walk. La
boca del rio! Hay derechas, izquierdas, tuboss, lo que
usted quiera.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales:

Saturday we're celebrating Wingnut's birthday with a great
big party by the pool!

* From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:

We've had great waves off and on all week when the
intermitant offshores blew. Yesterday it was offshore all
morning for a great overhead and a half to double overhead
session. A few of us drove down the service road to the
Tamarindo River mouth and surfed some shoulder high,
offshore sets as the tide rose in the afternoon. The wind
switched to onshore for the second session just as the tide
got right at Playa Grande point in the afternoon. We were
all pretty surfed out anyway. This morning the swell
relaxed a bit and made for a great glassy morning session.
There were a lot of heavy barrels and spitting waves. I
surfed alone for hours this morning at the main peak and
with a hand full of friends yesterday. Where is everybody?

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

The swell is strong and the offshores which are the
critical element are blowing every few days. As this swell
cleans up we should see some great morning surf with the
perfect mid morning high tides.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -El mejor

As the swell drops, the main peak in Playa Grande will
become the focus. If it gets bigger or sloppier, try the
rivermouth just 3 min. to the south on the service road.

* From Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -

This week has been amazing. Absolutely perfect conditions
at Ollies ALL WEEK LONG. Witch's has been firing too!!! So
good, offshore winds but not too heavy, just perfect
perfect waves.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -

As if it couldn't get any better, as this swell finally
winds down, another replaces it and this weekend will show
the start of another week-long performance. The surf will
not get below head high at Witch's and Ollie's, and since
we're experiencing perfect offshore wind conditions, expect
more of what we've been surfing...perfect waves.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -

Witch's Rock on the mid-to-high tide, Ollie's on the
mid-to-low.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS-

Only four months until Thanksgiving, you'd better start
feeding that turkey.

Dominical-

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:

Waves this week were 2+ overhead on the sets, but not too
gnarly. Fun surf at the point at midtide too. Yesterday, it
dropped to a little overhead, but still fun. 5 broken
boards last week that I know of.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

Saturday the surf will drop just a tad, still overhead and
fast, even good at dead high tide. By Sunday p.m., the next
SSW should start to show with some bigger sets every 15
minutes.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor

Beachbreak 2 hours before to an hour after hightide. Low
tide it has been barreling, but a lot of closeouts.
