Another west-southwest swell has come, giving us nice overhead surf for the weekend. Winds are offshore until 10:00 a.m., and then again in the late afternoon.
PLAYA JACO & HERMOSA
Jeannette at The Copacabana Hotel (643-3131) in Jaco reported overhead conditions out back, with slight onshore winds for Thursday. Best spot: n/a
NICOYA PENINSULA
From Patti at The Monkey Bar & Best Western - Vista Villas Tamarindo "Guanacaste's Surf Connection" (653-0114): Spot, size, & wind: Playa Grande - Head high with occassional 2+ overhead. Clean and glassy early morning with offshore winds and switching to onshores early afternoon. Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra - Only for the more experience surfers as a southwest has come in with 4 to 8+ surf on incoming high tide. Playa Tamarindo - Pico Grande up to head high with good lefts. The outside break is showing making the beach break clean and with some occassional sets 2+overhead
Winds are still showing offshore in the am and switching to onshores and or variable winds in the pm. Best spot: Ollie's and Witch's rock showing 5-7, clean with barrels to the beach. Expected to stay good until Friday. Winds are running lite offshores. Upcoming: Roads are improving so Avellanas to Negra is passable for the
adventurous driver. Surf should remain in the area until Friday and a new west is starting to show on the bouys.

Beach: Old Harbor beach break; Wave size: 2-3 ft; Wave smoothness: slighly choppy but there was a big wind and then it calmed down in the late afternoon. Wind direction: East, Northeast. Best spot: Looks like both beach break and Salsa will be good if the sea holds.

Un otro "swell" del oeste-suroeste ha venido, nos dando olas sobre-cabeza para el fin de semana. Vientos son "offshore" hasta diez en la mañana, y despues un ves mas en la tarde.
PLAYA JACO Y HERMOSA
Jeannette de La Copacabana Hotel (643-3131) en Jacó reportó: condiciónes sobre-cabezas afuera, con vientos pocitas "onshore" para jueves. Mejor lugar: n/a
NICOYA PENINSULA
De Patti en El Monkey Bar & Best Western - Vista Villas (653-0114): Lugar, Tamaño, y Viento: Playa Grande - Hasta la cabeza con olas mas grande de dos pies. Limpia y vidrioso temprano en la mañana con vientos "offshore" y cambiando a "onshore" temprano en la tarde. Playa Avellanas y Playa Negra - Solamente por los surfeadores con expertise, un "swell" del suroeste ha venido con olas de 4 a 8 pies durante marea alta. Playa Tamarindo - Pico Grande tienen olas hasta la cabeza con izquierdas buenas. El "break" afuera esta mostrando haciendo el "break" en la playa limpia y con "sets" de dos pies sobrecabeza. Todavia, vientos estan mostrando "offshore" en la mañana y cambiando a "onshore" en la tarde. El lugar mejor: Ollie's y Roca Bruja mostrando 5 a 7 pies, limpias con tubos a la arena. Deberían buenas hasta viernes. Vientos estan corriendo "offshore". Próximo: Los calles son mejor tan Avellanas a Negra son buenos a viajar para las personas con pelotas. "Surf" debe ser en estos partes hasta viernes y un "swell" nuevo esta empezando a mostrar en los "buoys"
