The Caribbean has overhead surf that lasts through Monday, dropping a foot Tuesday down to head high and another foot on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are small, but by Saturday morning a NNE swell pushes in a few head high sets, growing to a foot overhead Sunday and Monday.. On the Pacific, it starts small Monday and Tuesday, at best head high. Then a SW swell arrives Wednesday pushing in overhead surf. On Thursday it combines with a WNW swell, bumping it up another foot. By Friday the swell combo brings lots of sets in the 1-3 foot overhead range, which lasts all weekend, even bigger down south of Jaco. Monday through Wednesday of next week shows a major SSW swell on it's way, time to make travel plans...

** From Erik at SurfingNosara.com in Playa Guiones - (2/25)

The excitement today isn't on the beach, it is about 600 miles out in the middle of the ocean, steam-rolling its way in... Looking at the forecast we have a full week of four and five star days!!! Should be overhead until next week starting tomorrow at some point... And for our Thursday, Friday sessions it is looking all-time, with 6 feet at 16 seconds from our sweet 216 direction... it is a rest and get ready, movie day today... I'll be hitting up the frog pad on the way home from the office. Today on the beach we have waist high surf, it is looking almost flat, with some good waits between sets... But who cares, as I can feel the energy headed our way!!!

** From Hotel Buenisimo in Santa Teresa/Mal Pais (2/23)-

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: head high - peaky, good shape in the morning. Wind in the afternoon

Some overhead ones but regular waves are shoulder high , conditions are fair with light winds until eveing when it blew a but sideshore. Supposed to get big later in the week so be ready , thanks and happy surfing !

** From Andrea at Waves CR Surf Camp in Playa Hermosa -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:

Overhead waves with nice glassy conditions in the mornings. LA Curva has been pretty fun, classic overhead conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas):

Looks like the waves are going to stay like this for a couple of days.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area:

Head to the beach breaks, early in the morning.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS - Waves Costa Rica designed this Blog special from our friends, family and guest, because we want to keep hearing from you. Please check out this link www.wavescr.com/blog

** From Brice at Land Assurance in Dominical (2/24) -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Head high to a couple of feet overhead. No wind and early-morning/late-afternoon tide conditions. What more can one ask for. The conditions are what give Domincal beach its name. Really fun!!!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): More of the same but there are signs of a real swell brewing for later in the week.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: This is a good swell, but its not big enough to light up the Point. Stay at the beach but stay out of my way ;-)
