NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Waves from the West! Book your trip to Ollie's now. Surf is overhead and sloppy from the rain, but it will grow a foot by Wednesday and be 2 foot overhead Thursday along the northern Guanacaste coast. Consistent overhead to a foot overhead surf for the rest of the Pacific all week, building to 2 feet overhead by Friday and Saturday. Swell lasts through next Monday, dropping down to overhead Tuesday and head high next Wednesday. After that, wait five days for a strong South swell to arrive.

Caribbean - If it's said that the waves will be over 1 foot all week - they would be lying. Flat all week through Saturday.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande (10/7) -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The swell has been holding from overhead to head high and is fairly clean in spite of the flukey wind conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): It's difficult to predict right now. The few surfers hanging on it are occassionally well rewarded with uncrowded, great surf. The offshore trades could begin any day now.

** From Erik at SurfingNosara.com in Playa Guiones - (10/8)

Surf on this evening was kind of sloppy, but there were still good ones rolling through. The forecast is not looking too good with the longest period of the week coming in at 8 seconds. It still could be fun if local conditions cooperate, but this time of year who knows. We have a low tide tomorrow morning at 7:38am, So with small conditions that should help us out.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): More of the same.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Any of the south facing beaches.
