** From Blue Trailz Surf Tours in Tamarindo (7/6) -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Nice shoulder to head high sets breaking in the bay of Tamarindo , South end of Grande has some very good waves and Langosta has been working well in the past few days

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas):Head high surf on south fasing beaches

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Avellanas will be good in the next few days North end of Grande and Langosta shoot have decent size surf

** From Colin at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

The surf today was a bit smaller, but still some fun shoulder high sets came through the rivermouth in Tamarindo. The winds were lightly offshore most of the day and the high tide this evening had some glassy waves peeling over the rivermouth sandbars.

It looks like we have more waves on tap for the rest of next week. That makes me happy. Hopefully, you have made plans to come down here soon as the surf season is in full swing. If you want to catch really fun waves this is the time of year. The most exposed spots rarely go less than head high at this time of year. I look forward to seeing you soon.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande - (7/7)

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: We've been enjoying great overhead morning surf with stiff off shores. The crowds at times around the main peak are overwhelming, however the sessions have been long and most of the surfers are having a great time. This swell is a little raw and the ones that work well are hard to pick.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): With morning tides, there should be some great surf for several days as long as the wind cooperates.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: The focus is on the main peak to the south of the hotel, but there are great waves everywhere along the north end of the bay.

** From photographer John Lyman, Lyman Photos in Playa Negra - (7/9)

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The surf at Playa Negra has been real fun with head high sets and glassy conditions. Water temp is hovering in the high 80s. Sunny skies in the mornings and rainy afternoons. Look for more of the same as the swell turns more South with some SW wind swell mixed in to give it good shape. We have high tide running through the late mornings this upcoming week so look for Negra to be good to very good as the tide comes up.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: You can see just how flat Playa Negra is right now. www.lymanphotos.sbpix.com .

** From Steve at Coconut Harrys Surf Shop in Playa Guiones (7/7)-

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones: The waves in Playa Guiones have been consistent all week with head high to overhead sets. The crowds have been moderate and the vibe is always friendly here. The surf has been good mid morning and afternoons due to the tides. With some fast tubes on the lower tides.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas): This weekend waves are expected to weaken to chest to head high. Early morning should be your best bet with the in coming tide. Also, check back as the tide goes out. There's been some power and fast rides during lower tides.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area: Playa Guiones should catch most of the current swell the best.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: There is a save the Howler Monkey fundraiser concert on July 27th at the Harbor Reef in Playa Guiones at 7 p.m. They are bringing in some rock and blues musicians from the states to rock out the house. It's $50 per person and it includes dinner. The money goes towards updating the transformers and electric cables to make them monkey friendly. The area lost 8 monkeys just last month to electricution. It's an ugly sight to see a monkey burned like that. To buy tickets call (506) 682-1010 and ask for Brenda.

** From Erik at SurfingNosara.com in Playa Guiones - (7/8)

Buenos, I expected the surf to be smaller today as we are waiting for new swell to arrive, and my first 4 minutes on the beach I didn't see anything fun roll through... then a 7 waves set macked through peaking at the palm tree, and rolling to the rancho. None of the waves closed out... and no one was on it, one guy caught one way, way out on the shoulder, but the best sections were already over. That set was a bit overhead. If you want some of those you better get on it quick because with the rising tide it won't last too long. On the forecast, we are looking at some good waves for the next few days, and offshores are forecast in the mix! Good tides... I might be rescheduling some appointments tomorrow... Last night we had some killer little lines rolling through. Like a little skate park, and all the local groms were getting it done, tails flying, airs boosting, and a little barrel from time to time.

** From Brice at Land Assurance in Dominical (7/6)-

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Waves are shoulder to just over head high. Nice form even if a little closed out. The main swell appears from the west and so the current is pushing toward the cell tower/Roca Verde and the wave yields more rights than lefts.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): The weekend looks to be about the same or maybe a bit smaller. However, a nice looking storm is brewing off Ecuador and Columbia and should send us a gift during the week next week.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: Anywhere along the beach at Dominical.
