NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - **late Sat. nite forecast - post surf - Today the swell
maxed out, and by Sunday you'll see a small dip in the set size -
but still big 2-5 foot overhead, bigger at a few spots. Monday it
drops another two feet, but Tuesday shows some West swell in the mix
for some frequent 1-3 overhead sets in the Guanacaste region.
Wednesday the sets get farther apart, and by Thursday it's down to a
foot overhead. Friday it's head high to overhead with a foot
overhead sets - staying that way through next Tuesday afternoon
(5/31) when the first 2 foot overhead sets roll in from the South.
To forecast later next week, surf not too big head high to overhead
in the Nicoya and 1 to 2 feet bigger on the southern facing
beachbreaks.

Caribbean - The surf is quite flat for now, but the tropical season
has started with Adrian, and systems forming in the Caribbean will
be sending short period swell soon. No surf over waist high all
week, possibly some relief by next Saturday.

AREA REPORTS

** From Diana at Pura Mar Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

The surf right now in Tamarindo is like a giant washing machine. The
south swell is here and it's breaking all over the bay. Boats
anchored in the bay appear and disappear at mid tide as the swells
roll in. The surf is big but not very rideable as the waves are
accompanied by a stiff south wind.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): It's supposed to be very big and
very rainy as this system passes by. Perhaps mornings will be clean
enough to surf.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: If any spot can handle this
combination it will be Capitan Suizo. Si hay lugar que aguante estas
condiciones, sera el Capitan Suizo.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

We have plenty of swell. In spite of the early on-shores from the
hurricane, the clean swell is enticing a few surfers out at high
tide and some good rides have been had up to yesterday when it was
pretty bumpy even when the rains came in.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
este fin de semana (clima y olas): Hopefully the hurricane will
dissapate when it makes landfall and we can get back to our usual
off-shore in the morning pattern. We have a nice swell running.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
Duck down
into Tamarindo for smoother conditions if it's bumpy or too big out
front.

** From Samara Surf Camp on the Nicoya Peninsula -

Around high tide some 4 foot waves rolling in, nice form. Choppy and
mushy conditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar
to 5 foot, due to Full Moon coming. Weather conditions to be rainy
and windy, choppy conditions until after rain hits, then waves
become glassy and nice.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar para
has nice uncrowded conditions and not to close to the shore at high
tide.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y días especiales: Samara still
