High Tide - 7.70 ft. at 11:51 am

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Surf in the overhead to 2 foot overhead range for the
weekend from the SSW, very consistent sets every 10 minutes. Will
continue to get bigger and more from the south, by Tuesday morning
surf grows to 3 foot overhead with a macked set every 15 minutes, but
drops back down by Wednesday evening. Next Thursday is back to just
overhead and cleaner. Time to hit those breaks that go off with a
dead south swell.

Caribbean - Solid ENE swell pounding the right coast with surf
headhigh with some overhead sets. Should increase a foot on Saturday,
stay good on Sunday and Monday, before dropping back down to chest
high by Tuesday afternoon. Swell disappears midweek, but another is
due by next Saturday from the ESE.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the PuraMar surf teacher in Tamarindo -

Waves and Conditions: We had a great week of sun and off-shore winds!
The waves in Tamarindo were waist to shoulder high, perfect peelers
for longboarding. Langosta was a bit bigger as usual, head high on
the sets.

This weekend: Our little "Indian Summer" seems to have ended last
night with a thunderstorm. Wind has been onshore today and our normal
rainy-season afternoon shower fell. The swell is picking up a bit but
this weekend will depend on the wind.

Best place this weekend: Considering the mid-day high tide and and
wind issues we may have at that time, I suggest mornings on
Langosta's incoming tide.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: I'm ready to
begin surf lessons again and check out my website: www.puramar.com

** From Hightide Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA- El mejor lugar a

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: No se Olviden

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

A new swell filled in on Thursday
with solid head high to overhead waves. Offshores throughout the day.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): Plenty of swell, midday tides, and
hopefully the trend of overcast, offshore conditions will continue.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The main peak at Grande and
points to the north and south.

TIDES *for Friday
( add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - July 13th

High Tide - 9.23 ft. at 6:04 am
Low Tide - .84 ft at 12:09 pm

Pacific - The SSW arrives in force today, bringing 1-3 foot overhead
surf with sets coming every 10 minutes. It stays good all weekend,
only dropping down on Monday to overhead up north, with better shape
down south. Swell should last until next Wednesday, before resuming a
head high + barrage up and down the coast. Late afternoon sessions
should be fun over the weekend, and dawn patrols next week.

Caribbean - Surf is still coming in from the East, consistently waist
to chest high with some bigger sets arriving Sunday morning. Building
to chest to head by the afternoon, with overhead sets showing up
Monday a.m., but dying out slowly throughout the next two days.
Another ENE swell arrives Thursday to keep the waves coming through
to the weekend.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the PuraMar surf teacher in Tamarindo -

Hey! I'm back from the States! The waves have looked small to me
since my return and I've been too involved in moving to get many of
them. The tides have been extremely high this week due to the full
moon and lots of rain and onshore winds. Good time to move. Hola!
Estoy de regreso de los Estatos! Las olas se ven pequenas desde que
llegue y he estado demasiado ocupada para agarrar muchas.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): This weekend begins dawn patrol. This
is the time of year we're supposed to get a few weeks of clear skies
and off shores, so let's hope they kick in.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
morning, like Avellanas rivermouth for example.

Head high to occasionally a few feet overhead at the main peak at
Grande. Good early morning session on Thursday, but coming in a bit
funky by the afternoon, perhaps a cross swell or new raw swell
showing.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):Daybreak sessions are the call--beat the
crowds and the possible afternoon onshores. Though it turned onshore
around noon on Thursday, it went back offshore in the early
afternoon. If the afternoon light offshores continue, we'll be having
our doublesessions at Grande over the next few days. Plenty of swell
in the water!

Full Moon - July 13th

Low Tide - 1.15 ft at 5:51 am
High Tide - 9.23 ft. at 12:18 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Surf will grow over the weekend, from head high with osome
overhead sets Saturday to 2 foot overhead for Sunday afternoon and
Monday morning. With early low tides, check those point/reef breaks.
From Tuesday on to next weekend, expect consistent overhead surf from
the SSW, with strong tide changes. More swell showing up for next
weekend, too.

Caribbean - As Claudette zips by into Mexico, the entrails manage to
push into the northern Caribbean coast with surf waist to chest high
by Saturday afternoon. Watch out for tree limbs in the lineup from
the flooding farther north. Sunday it gets more consistent with a few
head high + sets and then fizzles Monday, dropping back down to waist
to chest high. By Tuesday it drops another foot and Wednesday looks
only to be knee, maybe with a waist high set every twenty minutes.

Full Moon - July 13th

High Tide - 8.67 ft. at 6:00 am
Low Tide - 1.11 ft at 12:00 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The west coast is cooling off for the weekend, surf
dropping to chest to head high with a few overhead sets every 15
minutes. Then down south a slight increase in size puts waves
overhead at SSW facing beaches. The swell moves up the coast to
Guanacaste Tuesday, bringing head high surf at best and then dropping
back to chest high Thursday, a foot bigger at the best spots. The
next SW arrives next Sunday evening after the full moon and will push
surf back to 2 foot overhead by the following Tuesday (7/15)

Caribbean - ENE wind swell has kept the beachbreaks in the waist to
chest high range and will continue to do so through Saturday. Sunday
will drop a foot and be less consistent on the sets. Another swell
fills in Monday morning, and again by the afternoon will be waist to
chest with a few headhigh peaks at the best spots. Tuesday and
Wednesday look to be the same size before dropping again Thursday
back to waist high.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

Still overhead at Grande, but unfortunately the wind was onshore by
mid-morning on Thursday. The current swell is a bit junky, but still
fun. On Wed. we had offshores for most of the day and overhead surf,
so perhaps the onshores we saw today were just an aberration.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): We have the early morning high tide on
our side, so even if the wind goes onshore to kill the afternoon
session, we'll at least have one session before the wind gets it.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA- El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The main peak at Playa Grande.
Might want to check out ChickenHead Rock to the north for cleaner
surf.

** From Carlos, head of Roca Bruja Boat Trips -
