TIDES *for Friday
( add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - July 13th

High Tide - 8.67 ft. at 6:00 am
Low Tide - 1.11 ft at 12:00 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The west coast is cooling off for the weekend, surf
dropping to chest to head high with a few overhead sets every 15
minutes. Then down south a slight increase in size puts waves
overhead at SSW facing beaches. The swell moves up the coast to
Guanacaste Tuesday, bringing head high surf at best and then dropping
back to chest high Thursday, a foot bigger at the best spots. The
next SW arrives next Sunday evening after the full moon and will push
surf back to 2 foot overhead by the following Tuesday (7/15)

Caribbean - ENE wind swell has kept the beachbreaks in the waist to
chest high range and will continue to do so through Saturday. Sunday
will drop a foot and be less consistent on the sets. Another swell
fills in Monday morning, and again by the afternoon will be waist to
chest with a few headhigh peaks at the best spots. Tuesday and
Wednesday look to be the same size before dropping again Thursday
back to waist high.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:
Still overhead at Grande, but unfortunately the wind was onshore by
mid-morning on Thursday. The current swell is a bit junky, but still
fun. On Wed. we had offshores for most of the day and overhead surf,
so perhaps the onshores we saw today were just an aberration.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): We have the early morning high tide on
our side, so even if the wind goes onshore to kill the afternoon
session, we'll at least have one session before the wind gets it.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA- El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The main peak at Playa Grande.
Might want to check out ChickenHead Rock to the north for cleaner
surf.

** From Carlos, head of Roca Bruja Boat Trips -

Witches rock: de 5 a 8 ft muy bueno y consistente viento off shore
todo el dia.

Ollies point : de 5 a 7 ft muy bueno y consistente viento off shore
