TIDES *for Friday
( add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - July 13th

High Tide - 9.23 ft. at 6:04 am
Low Tide - .84 ft at 12:09 pm

Pacific - The SSW arrives in force today, bringing 1-3 foot overhead
surf with sets coming every 10 minutes. It stays good all weekend,
only dropping down on Monday to overhead up north, with better shape
down south. Swell should last until next Wednesday, before resuming a
head high + barrage up and down the coast. Late afternoon sessions
should be fun over the weekend, and dawn patrols next week.

Caribbean - Surf is still coming in from the East, consistently waist
to chest high with some bigger sets arriving Sunday morning. Building
to chest to head by the afternoon, with overhead sets showing up
Monday a.m., but dying out slowly throughout the next two days.
Another ENE swell arrives Thursday to keep the waves coming through
to the weekend.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the PuraMar surf teacher in Tamarindo -

Hey! I'm back from the States! The waves have looked small to me
since my return and I've been too involved in moving to get many of
them. The tides have been extremely high this week due to the full
moon and lots of rain and onshore winds. Good time to move. Hola!
Estoy de regreso de los Estatos! Las olas se ven pequenas desde que
llegue y he estado demasiado ocupada para agarrar muchas.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): This weekend begins dawn patrol. This
is the time of year we're supposed to get a few weeks of clear skies
and off shores, so let's hope they kick in.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
morning, like Avellanas rivermouth for example.
Avellanas.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales: I'm ready to
begin surf lessons again and check out my website: www.puramar.com

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

Head high to occasionally a few feet overhead at the main peak at
Grande. Good early morning session on Thursday, but coming in a bit
funky by the afternoon, perhaps a cross swell or new raw swell
showing.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):Daybreak sessions are the call--beat the
crowds and the possible afternoon onshores. Though it turned onshore
around noon on Thursday, it went back offshore in the early
afternoon. If the afternoon light offshores continue, we'll be having
our doublesessions at Grande over the next few days. Plenty of swell
in the water!

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
