Full Moon - November 8th

Low Tide - .79 ft. at 6:06 am
High Tide-8.07 ft at 12:21 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The swell tap has been turned off for the moment, surf
waist to chest high with only a few random head high freak sets, and
it stays that way over the weekend and until next Tuesday. Wednesday
the SW swell fills in another foot, and by Thursday some consistent
head high surf hits the better beachbreaks. Only drops a foot by next
weekend, but no big relief in sight.

Caribbean - The surf season is open for the right coast, consistent
waist to chest high surf from the NNE along the beaches for the
weekend, dropping back to just waist by Monday. The next push comes
from the ENE on Thursday morning, waves head high with one or two
overhead sets. It drops again next Friday, but stays fun going into
next weekend.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the best surf instructor in Tamarindo -

Wave size and conditions: The surf is small, about waist high, but
today we're having our first burst of stiff dry off-shore wind! This
past week started out with a large westerly swell that brought waves
at least head high to Tamarindo and now it has passed.

What to expect this weekend: If today is an indicator, it will be a
weekend for longboarding. The small peeling waves and the perfect off-
shores should make mornings a dream.

Where to surf this weekend: I vote for the Tamarindo river mouth.
It's gets crowded, but the waves are plentiful even if they're small.
As the road dries out, the trip to Avellanas should also be well
worth the bumps.

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

The swell is small--around chest high--but the offshores are creating
beautiful fun little peaks all up and down the beach. Long mid-
morning to early afternoon sessions.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): The waves will probably stay small but
the sun will be out and the offshores blowing, so it will be a fun
weekend for playing around in the surf.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: The main peak at Grande.

** From Carlos of Roca Bruja Surf Tours in Playa del Coco -

** From Chuck at Chosita del Surf Shop in Jaco -

Well looks like the swell is gone again, small 2-4 ft faces out front
but the 4 footers are every 1/2 hour , get a longboard and hunt up
some micro barrels they are out there ! I had a blast yesterday out
front from 9-11 with NO WIND ! I dont see anything on the way till
maybe Monday but that should be a decent bump anyways so come
surfing !

** From Guido at Hotel Fuego del Sol in Playa Hermosa -

It seems it`s going to be a calm weekend over here, waves are small,
way fast breaks at every set, and changing winds Anyway the weather
is great, tides are high a little past noon, ( 9 feet avg ) and
again, it gets better after monday, comming from south, with 2 - 5
feet occasionaly. Not much going on in the area, big volleyball fest
in Jaco, and good chances for surfing lessons.

** From Tommy at Rancho Coral in Esterillos -

Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 7:35 AM Local Climate: Overcast. Air Temp: 93F.
Water Temp 85F Direction & Height: SW 2-3ft (from the back of the
