TIDES *for Friday
(add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - was April 16th

Low Tide -1.09 ft. at 9:40 am
High Tide: 10.51 ft. at 3:58 pm

Pacific - For the weekend, expect surf in the headhigh to 1 foot
overhead range for the south facing beaches. Will drop a foot on
Sunday afternoon, and then Monday another SW swell files in with some
2-3 foot overhead sets until Wednesday p.m. It diminishes down to
head high for next weekend, but lots of juice and consistency for
everyone.

Caribbean - The right coast is wrong for surfing this week, but great
for snorkeling or scuba. Maybe some knee to waist high mushers by
next Wednesday but don't expect anything better.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Carrie and Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

We continue to have an ideal swell in the just overhead range,
however the onshores during the afternoon high tides have been
blowing it out these last few days. Thursday's dawn patrol was fun
for an hour and totally neglected by the hoards of Easter vacation
surfers standing by.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): The dawn patrol window will expand each
day and should bring us descent conditions for the first part of the
week after all the revelers have left.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - The southern direction
of swells we are getting now are hitting the northern end of the bay
near the hotel. Chicken head rock has been receiving some notoriety.

** From Diana, the best surf maestra in Tamarindo -

The change of seasons is upon us and the winds have been switching
around crazily all week--sometime on-shore all day, sometimes off-
shore all day, sometimes one and then the other. Surf is waist to
shoulder high, bigger when the wind turns on-shore. Watch out for the
extra-high and low tides this weekend. The Semana Santa crowds are
here and the beach is about crammed to capacity.
capacidad.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
The waves will be here, it's the wind and it's changes that we will
wait to find out about. It's scalding hot and honestly the beach is
too full of people to be worthwile trying to surf much this weekend.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: If you know any secret spots,
lie about where you're going and go there! All the places people know
about are crammed with families on Semana Santa holidays and you
don't want to run over anybody's children or grandmother!
nadie!

JACO & HERMOSA
