NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Strong NW brushing the northern coast with some surf in the
head high to overhead range for Saturday and Sunday. While central
and southern zones stay head high and fun with a weak high tide in
the morning for glassy dawn patrols. Expect the swell to slowly fade
out through the week, with waves waist to chest high for next weekend.

Caribbean - More juice is headed to Salsa Brava, waves there will be
double overhead on the sets Monday, dropping a little by Tuesday
afternoon. The ESE swell pushes in more chest to head surf for the
whole coast by Thursday, but dies off for next weekend, leaving
beaches with some chest high waves.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Carrie and Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

The waves picked up a bit on Thursday, with some solid head high
sets. The wind's been offshore all day, and the waves have great
shape. Very fun!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
Long morning sessions, as the tide is moving slowly.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
The main peak at Grande as well as all up and down the beach.

** From Diana, the best surf instructor in Tamarindo (according to
the editor):

I'm fresh off the plane back in town, so not a lot to tell. Today
seems to have less wind and more waves than yesterday. Good news!
Buenas noticias!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):
My guess would be hard off-shore winds and hopefully waves for as
long as the winds are light enough to let them into the bay. Me

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
Any place except Marbella! Ross Menking's foot was bitten by a shark
there and he is still in the hospital recovering. Donde sea menos
Marbella.
