facing beachbreaks with maybe a sneaker shoulder high wave
every 20 minutes. Check out the Caribbean this Tuesday and
wait until a week from Tuesday for some hope from the SW.

Caribbean - Waves drop off to waist high for this Sunday

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande:

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -

Tamano de las olas y condiciones: Thursday was small, chest
high. It stayed glassy to light offshore all day until
around 5 pm when it turned side onshore. With the high tide
push, there were some head high sets. Fun, but very
crowded.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a
pasar este fin de semana (clima y olas):

More of the same, though the wind has been unpredictable.
Where's "little summer"????

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor
lugar a surfear este fin de semana en su area:

The main peak at Grande, as well as peaks to the north and
south to avoid the crowds.

** From Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -

Well, it hasn't been exactly firing this week, but you
can't complain with offshore winds from sun-up to sun-
down. Witch's and Ollie's both maxing out at shoulder high,
clean surf. Little barrels (bring your little friends)

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -

We're hoping to see an increase in surf- which was supposed
to occur by today (thursday 7-11). If the satelite reports
are correct, we'll see the surf practically double in the
next 12 hours or so. I'm not holding my breath, just
hoping. Expecting. Really hoping.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -

No matter what, Ollie's Point will always be the best wave
in our area. Its the best wave we've ever surfed, and even
if its only waist high, the wind is offshore and the waves
set up and break from take-off to the sand! so get out
there if you have the itch, theres NO CROWDS.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS-

Discotec Friday July 12th Witch's Rock Surf Camp Tamarindo.
Yes this is soon, its tommorrow. So lets party
cheap beer too.

* From Steve at Tropico Latino Lodge in Santa Teresa (Mal
Pais) -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS & CONDITIONS:

Surf is small and fun with waves in the chest to head high
range. Glassy all day yesterday.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND:

Looks as if the swell will continue to drop.

BEST PLACE TO SURF IN YOUR AREA:

If the waves are going to be as small as it looks, all the
beachbreaks will be pretty much the same. Pack a longboard.

JACO & HERMOSA

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y

Hermosa was waist to chest high with an occasional shoulder

town.
