NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - This week is consistent with surf chest high, with head high
sets. A
little bigger around Grande and Tulin, and smaller in T-Bay. High tide
in the
a.m. makes all the beach breaks look good 2 hours before to about 30
minutes
before peak high, when things mush out. The swell direction is a mixto,
nothing
big coming from either direction for another 10 days at least.

Caribbean - GO NOW !!!! Surf is overhead at Black Beach and Cocles,
with waves
3+ overhead at Salsa and la isla! Watch out for flooded roads. Swell
sticks
around all week, with more to come for next weekend's National Circuit
Contest.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

1) From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande-

The waves at Playa Grande have been great all week with overhead surf
and
offshore conditions. The swell dropped a bit for the Thursday evening
session,
but the offshore winds kept the barrels coming, with overhead waves
still
pushing through on the bigger sets.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

Long morning sessions, as well as evening sessions, with the offshores
holding
throughout the day, if this past week has been any indication.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
fin de semana en su area:

The main peak at Grande, and points just to the north and south of the
main
peak, where you'll find the most sizable waves.

2) From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

Another great week of surf in Tamarindo. The weekend saw all breaks
except
Capitan Suizo overhead, diminishing a bit through the week but holding
steady.
The wind switched onshore on Monday, but other than that it's been a
beautiful
week.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

We can expect favorable winds and gorgeous sunrise/sunset sessions,
probably
head to chest high. Podemos experar vientos favorables y sessiones

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
fin de semana en su area:

You pretty much can't go wrong at this point, just watch out for new
rocks
because the swell have taken off with a good portion of our sand! Casi
no te

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS - Noticias y dias especiales:

RA Surfshop manager Suzanne gets back from the Florida Surf Expo this
week with
lots of new goodies for the surfshop! Suzanne, la gerenta del RA
Surfshop

para el
surfshop!

3) From Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp out of Playa del Coco and
Tamarindo:

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -

Well as everyone knows, the NW swell picked up Fri afternoon and
Saturday,
making epic surf at the rock.
Sailboats was best with two to three foot overhead sets, peaky and
offshore.
Really good barrels, but you all figured that already, it is WITCH'S
ROCK.
Swell has slowly dropped off to shoulder-head high sets as of today
(Wed.,7
pm).

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -

Surf should stay in the shoulder-high range through the weekend, maybe
some
bigger sets if we're lucky. Our next swell is going to be a South this
time,
the charts are seeming to tell us Mon-Tue of next week. Thats when you
want to
be at OLLIES...

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -

Witch's Rock will be best in the area, as usual. In front of the sunken
sailboat will be slightly bigger with the fading NW swell.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS -

WRSC Tamarindo and WRSC Playas del Coco are currently accepting
applications
for assistant surf camp
managers. Email witchsrock@hotmail.com and tell us why you think you
are best
for the job. -JOE

JACO & HERMOSA

6) From Tommy at Fuego del Sol in Playa Hermosa -

The waves are smaller today, but fun looking with a light offshore
wind.
Esterillos could have a fun wave early in the morning for the higher
tide. High
tide is around 8:00AM. It hasn´t been raining too much, so the water is
really
clear. Good luck and see you in the water. Dennis Christopher and Tobit

DOMINICAL & SOUTHERN PACIFIC

7) From Greg at the Adventure Education Center in Dominical-

The NW swell that brought 3 foot overhead surf on Sunday and Monday has
slowly
died out, back to waist to chest with head high+ sets and great form at
sunrise
and sunset. Speaking of, the sunsets have been amazing the last 4 days.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

Not much swell this weekend or early next week, but the tides are at
the right
time for sunrise and senset sessions. It has even been fun around late
morning
with no wind, and a lower tide hollow ride.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
