AREA REPORTS -

NICOYA (N)
(1) Patti at Best Western, Tamarindo Vista Villas - AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Thursday through Sunday swell out of the SW with 5-8' faces on exposed south or south west facing breaks. Conditions good to great early morning go outs. WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): Conditions are great with offshores in the am and high tide running at 9:30am on Thursday. Lite onshores may come in early afternoons but storm movements will bring back in the offshores late afternoons. Swell should hold until Sunday, then decreasing until Wednesday, when another round of sw swell picks up. BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: Tamarindo rivermouth left is glassy and rolling. Should remain good all weekend. It's a Witch's & Ollie's kind of swell-conditions should be good all week. Playa Avellanes, Little Hawaii and Langosta rivermouth all good bets. Playa Negra is back 5-7 feet and clean. NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS: It's A William"Monkey" Birthday Party with the rock & roll of the Leatherbacks. Best Western-Vista Villas this Saturday from 6-10.

(2) From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas at Playa Grande - AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Sets are running head high to overhead and a half. WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves): High tide is in the morning this week with lots of offshores and good conditions for waves due to the offshores. BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA: In front of the Hotel

(3) From Pukas at Hotel Antumalal in Junquillal - AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Lamentablemente este inicio de semana no hemos tenido buenas olas.

**In ENGLISH** 1. Unfortunately, this week we have not had good waves, only between 3 -5 feet. The sea is quiet. 2. For this weekend, the waves can be bigger with better conditions in the morning because the wind is very good early. In the afternoon, it does not get larger, but it's very possible to surf between 4 and 6 in the afternoon. 3. Playa Negra will be a good option or the Ranch in Junquillal or more to the south in Ostional. 4. We have a super-special package for everyone - ONLY $45 per person per day - INCLUDES: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and the Room

(4) Steve from Tropico Latino Lodge in Santa Teresa - AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS: Summerlike conditions all week with clean fun surf in the shoulder to head high range, added bonuses have been evening glass offs, sunshine and blue water. Today the swell has risen and sets are overhead. WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND: Swell looks like it is building and moving round to the SW, weather should continue fine. Should be an excellent weekend. WHERE TO SURF IN YOUR AREA THIS WEEKEND: With the high tide moving round to late morning, the incoming tide at Playa Carmen is the best bet. Santa Teresa should be good early morning and p.m., if the evening glass offs continue.

(6) From Todd at Alacran Surf Tours in Manuel Antonio - Area wave heights & conditions: there has been some fun surf down at the main beach of Manuel Antonio; 3-5', shoulder to head high. Further down the beach at Playitas the waves have proven to be bigger and better with 5-7 footers(lefts and rights) This week the waves have slowly been building and it appears that the swell might be on the increase for this weekend. The best places to surf this weekend in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area: Playitas, Del Rey, Bejuca, Esterillos The surf at Del Rey on Wednesday was solid 6-8 foot faces; fun surf with some big heavy board breakers.
