New Moon - June 29th

Low Tide - 2.11 ft at 6:58 am
High Tide - 8.27 ft. at 1:18 pm

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Get ready - Friday and Saturday will be head high with a
few bigger sets, but Sunday is the day it starts. In the morning down
south, waves picking up another foot, which pushes up the coast from
the SSW during the day. Make sure you get to surf the sunset session.
Monday, another foot bigger, Tuesday - another foot. Next Wednesday
it drops in size, but another SW bumps up the wave count. For next
weekend, more of that SW but only overhead surf. Waiting for another
south swell to show in 16 days, with head high + surf while you wait.

Caribbean - The right coast is heating up with surf waist high with a
few sets every hour. Should stay the same for the first part of the
weekend, and then Sunday increases to consistent chest to head high.
Monday looks to be the same before dropping back to waist high +
Tuesday and smaller for Wednesday into next weekend. Keep your eyes
peeled for Tropical Storms.

NICOYA (N)

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y condiciones:
Big waves all week, pretty much maxing out at Grande. Some light
offshores in the morning made for some nice large walls for the
takers. Tamarindo Rivermouth has been more manageable.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): Nice mid-morning sessions at Grande as
the swell is more manageable now that it's dying out a bit. Some
light offshores in the first part of the day, so it should be fun at
Grande.

surfear este fin de semana en su area: Main peak at Grande.

** From Joe at Witchs Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - This has been an amazing week,
actually an amazing three weeks. I
think the surf only dropped below shoulder/head-high for a day
(Saturday June 7), besides this its been overhead every single day.
Witch's on Tuesday June 10 was 15-18ft faces, VERY BIG and not very
forgiving. Basically, if you're not here and sitting at your desk
reading this, you're bummed...

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - The surf should
remain in the head-high w/ overhead sets range for Friday-Sunday,
Sunday night should start to see an new Southwest swell 210degrees.
This should push surf to the "well overhead" range with
double overhead sets. I'm talking about real south swell here, Sunday
PM into Monday get ready for some serious surf.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - Anywhere facing south-
southwest. Its going to be hitting everywhere.

Top News --

Some boat trips have been denied to Witch's Rock and Ollies due to
new restrictions by the C.R. government on boats entering Santa Rosa
National Park. Also watch out for embargos on travelling with
surfboards this summer. Check with your travel/tour agent to see if
you'll be affected.

TIDES *for Friday
(add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - June 14th

High Tide - 7.90 ft at 7:06 am
Low Tide - 1.67 ft. at 1:05 pm

Pacific - Surf chest to head high with some bigger sets every 15
minutes in the southern and central zones, a foot smaller up in
Guanacaste. Waves grow Monday morning, back to headhigh, and then
overhead by Tuesday. By next Wednesday, the next SSW swell starts up,
a strong one - kicking up 1-2 foot overhead clean surf. The size
stays big, with some bigger sets (3+ overhead) all the way through
next weekend.

Caribbean - The Caribbean Sea has returned to being a lake for the
weekend, with no hope for waves until Tuesday morning. By then, waves
should pick up to knee to waist, but won't last past Wednesday. Going
into next weekend, no relief is in sight.
