Costa Rica Surf Report for June 6th, 2003

Costa Rica's Weekly Surf Report
Volume 6, Issue 197
June 6th, 2003

Top News --

Some boat trips have been denied to Witch's Rock and Ollies due to
new restrictions by the C.R. government on boats entering Santa Rosa
National Park. Also watch out for embargos on travelling with
surfboards this summer. Check with your travel/tour agent to see if
you'll be affected.

Send me a note if you are interested in working on a Costa Rican
chapter of the Surfrider Foundation - Protecting the World's Oceans,
Waves, and Beaches.

Have a question? We have answers! Send a note to info@...
before your next trip to get the info on waves, boards, and places to
stay.

TIDES *for Friday
(add 50 min. each day after)

Full Moon - June 14th

High Tide - 7.90 ft at 7:06 am
Low Tide - 1.67 ft. at 1:05 pm

Pacific - Surf chest to head high with some bigger sets every 15
minutes in the southern and central zones, a foot smaller up in
Guanacaste. Waves grow Monday morning, back to headhigh, and then
overhead by Tuesday. By next Wednesday, the next SSW swell starts up,
a strong one - kicking up 1-2 foot overhead clean surf. The size
stays big, with some bigger sets (3+ overhead) all the way through
next weekend.

Caribbean - The Caribbean Sea has returned to being a lake for the
weekend, with no hope for waves until Tuesday morning. By then, waves
should pick up to knee to waist, but won't last past Wednesday. Going
into next weekend, no relief is in sight.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): Parese que el swell se va mantener
durante este fin de semana. Despiertense temprano y surfean la marea
subiendo con poca gente. Se ha visto Tamarindo Beach llenisimo de
gente siempre a la tarde.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a
