NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Waves chest to head high with some sneaker sets showing an
arriving SSW swell. Sunday morning it pegs the southern and central
coasts with 1-3 foot overhead waves, consistent sets every 10
minutes. The swell arrives in Guanacaste in the afternoon, and fills
in the beachbreaks Monday with 2+ overhead surf. On Tuesday the sets
arrive a little farther apart and a foot smaller. And by next
Wednesday, it's still overhead and cleaner.

Caribbean - Dropping E swell down to waist high Friday evening and
knee to waist through the weekend. Nothing due on the horizon, flat
to maybe knee high during the week - time to hit the Pacific or go
snorkeling.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the PuraMar surf teacher in Tamarindo -

Could it be any flatter? I think not! The occasional high tide set
wave is waist high, the rest maybe knee high. We've had some nice off-
shores in the mornings, but really this is madness. If you have small
children (infants?!) that you want to take surfing, now is the time!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas): Unless we get a new swell this weekend
would be a good time to go mountain biking, paint your house, go to
Arenal and try to see the volcano.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA- El mejor lugar a
Playa Avellanas

** From Carlos at Roca Bruja Surf Tours in Playa del Coco -

** From Carrie at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

Chest to maybe head high on the sets. Mid-morning onshores have been
a problem the last few days.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de semana (clima y olas):Catch it early before the wind gets on
it. Also, with the smaller size, it's better to catch Grande about 3
hours before high tide, if not sooner, so you can get some little
hollow ones.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA- El mejor lugar a
surfear este fin de semana en su area: Main peak at Grande; get on it
early!
