NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Waves will be head high this weekend with some overhead sets
from a
SW swell mixed with a 15 second period south swell. By Monday, the
South takes
over the pictures and pushes in overhead surf for south facing beaches.
By
Tuesday, a major drop in size will be seen, back to waist to chest
high, and
will stay that size through next weekend.

Caribbean - The right coast flat spell is still in effect, however on
the
horizon is a nice E swell kicking in surf for next weekend. Enjoy the
sunshine
and the reggae flavor of Cahuita and Puerto Viejo.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande:

Chest ot head-high for Wednesday, dropping a bit on Thursday. Pretty
mixed up
with onshore winds blowing consistently all day. Catch it in the early
morning,
as the tides are right!

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

Let's hope it picks up a bit as last week's report indicated. Still
plenty to
play with, especially with the long morning sessions.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
fin de semana en su area:

The main peak at Grande seems to have the biggest peaks in the area.

** From Diana in Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

We've had a lot of choppy surf during the week ranging in size from
waist to
shoulder high. Winds have been consistantly on-shore, but have been
lighter in
the last several days. There have been some nice rideable shoulders on
the
north end of the beach near the river, and the river itself has been ok
at mid
tide.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

Virtual bouy reports show the surf coming up and with winds changing!
Could it
be true?!?
viento cambiara! Sera posible?!?

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
fin de semana en su area:

Let's hope the rumors are true! This weekend look for dawn and sunset
sessions
at Capitan Suizo or in front of the lifeguard tower. Mid afternoons at
the
rivermouth could be good.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS- Noticias y dias especiales:

QUEPOS & MANUEL ANTONIO

** From David at Escuela D'Amore in Manuel Antonio -

Playitas.

DOMINICAL & SOUTHERN PACIFIC

** From Alicia at the Adventure Education Center in Dominical-

At low tide surf was fun and a little smaller, except for the cleanup
sets.
Strong currents also were felt.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a pasar este
fin de
semana (clima y olas):

With high tide around dawn and dusk, expect nice dawn patrols and late
afternoon sessions. Surf will be in the head high+ range.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor lugar a surfear
este
fin de semana en su area:

Dawn patrol between the white houses.
