Greg at Villas Rio Mar (787-0052) 1) All week, early is better at the beach break, maybe the left point 2) morning surf was overhead and tubing 3) Offshore until 10 a.m. with gusts from the South, then light onshore until dark. 4) closing out at lower tides 5) none 6) NW overhead swell that wraps around to the W until next Tues., then the South fills in. Big switches between high & low tides (from 9.8 to .2 feet)

The waves get bigger as you drive towards Tuline. 2) head high to two feet overhead. 3) Offshore in the morning till about 10, glassing off again in the evening at about 3:30 - 4p.m. 4) Smooth in the morning while glassy 5) None this week 6) Surf contest at the Backyard Bar in Hermosa this Sat. & Sun. and concerts in Jaco this Sat.
NICOYA PENINSULA
From Patti at The Monkey Bar & Best Western - Vista Villas Tamarindo "Guanacaste's Surf Connection" (653-0114) tamvv@sol.racsa.co.cr . 1) The south is supposed to do it again! Surf spots - Playa Avellanes, Playa Negra (sw facing beaches) coming in with chest high to head high conditions. A 220+ is supposed to be coming in on Thursday, however the Navy buoys are showing a slight swell that should bring in head high to double overhead on deep water sw facing beaches and hold through the weekend. Ollie's and Witch's should pick it up and tides are good for noon to six surf outs. 2) Playa Grande picking up nicely with a good head high ride in the early afternoons. 3) Waves have been clean early a.m. and the winds are switching out to onshore in the afternoons causing choppy but some clean wave sets. 5) No new pests but a little red tide being picked up in the bay. 6) The "legends" are coming in! Golf tournament in Rancho Las Colinas Feb. 26-28.

*Hotel Jaguar (755-0238) jaguar@sol.racsa.co.cr reported: The sea is calming down and we do not expect good surfing for several days. However, there is lots of sun and snorkeling should be quite good. You should still be able to catch the odd wave in the late afternoon when the wind comes up a bit. We still are offering our SURFER SPECIAL which is two to four persons in a large room for 4 days with full breakfast for only $150.

Greg de Villas Rio Mar (787-0052) 1) Todo la semana, temprano es mejor a la playa, y posible el punto izquierda. 2) Esta mañana las olas fueron sobrecabeza y escupiendo 3) Vientos "offshore" hasta 10, con ráfagas del sur 4) olas cerrando durante mareas bajas 5) nada 6) NW sobrecabeza swell que envuelve alrededor al oeste hasta la próxima martes, pues un swell del sur vendra. Cambias grandes en mareas alta y baja (9.8 a .2 pies)
PLAYA JACO & HERMOSA

Las olas son mas grandes mientras manejando a Tulin. 2) caras de 6 a 8 pies 3) Vientos offshore hasta 10 en la mañana, mas suave un vez mas en la tarde sobre 3:30. 4) Suave en la mañana 5) nada 6) Torneo del surf al Backyard Bar en Hermosa este sabado y domingo y conciertos en Jaco este sabado.

Lugares - Avellanes, Playa Negra (playas de sudoeste) hayan olas de 4 a 6 pies. Para el fin de semana, estan creciendo a doble-sobrecabeza. Ollie's y Roca Bruja debe recibir y mareas son buenas para mediadía a seis sesiónes del surf. 2) Playa Grande tiene buenas olas de 5 pies temprano en la tarde 3) Temprano olas son suaves, pero en la tarde con vientos onshore, olas son agitados pero buenas "sets" 5) Un poco "marea rojo" en la bahía 6) Los leyendas estan llegando! Torneo de Golf en Rancho Las Colinas - Feb 26th a 28th.

David de La Escuela De Idiomas D'Amore, Spanish Immersion Center en Manuel Antonio (777-1143) damore@sol.racsa.co.cr mandó este- 1) Playa Playitas 2) tres a cuatro pies y en Playa Espadilla las olas son alrededor de dos a tres pies de altura. 3/4) caliente y suave 5) corrientes muy fuertes. 6) Se estará realizando el Festival del Mar a partir del 18 de febrero hasta el 21 de febrero, en el cuál se estarán
llevando a cabo algunas actividades recreativas y deportivas como música folklórica, conciertos al aire libre en la playa, exposiciones culturales, juego de pólvora, juegos artificiales y mecánicos, carnaval,
concierto de luces y lo más importante un campeonato de Surf que empezará el jueves 18 y la final será el domingo 21.

Ya debe poder a andar una ola en la tarde, cuando el viento crece un poco. Ya ofrecendo nuestro SURFER ESPECIAL, cual es dos a cuatro personas en un cuarto grande para 4 noches con impuestos y desayuno incluyó por solamente $150.
