NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - The excellent SW swell pumps in 2-3 overhead surf all
weekend and stays strong until Tuesday afternoon, as it will drop
down to overhead. Wednesday will still see some overhead sets, but
less consistent and by Thursday it will be down to chest to head
high. Next Friday looks smaller, only chest high sets at the best
beachbreaks. Going into next weekend, it does not look good, only
chest high and waiting for some South swell that shows in about 11
days.

Caribbean - Swell from the ENE drifts in slowly for the weekend, not
pushing surf over waist high. The conditions do not improve until
next Wednesday afternoon, when some bigger chest high bumps will be
seen and by next Friday, a head high set or two will keep the locals
happy.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana, the best surf instructor in Tamarindo -

Wave heights and conditions: There's been a south swell running this
week which brought head high surf to Tamarindo. Capitan Suizo was
breaking nicely from waist to chest high over the weekend and the
south wind that chopped up the waves at other local breaks was off
shore there. The swell has dimisished, but waves still are shoulder
high near the rivermouth and morning winds are light off shore.

What to expect this weekend: Another swell is rumored to be on the
way, so it should be a great weekend in Tamarindo. You can get in two
sessions with the early/late tides. Afternoons are variable--some are
rainy and on shore, but the pattern is starting to shift and allow
some pretty sunset sessions.

Best place to surf: I don't think you can go wrong. If it gets big,
the Suizo should be good--or just run for the closest wave.

** From Carlos at Roca Bruja Surf Tours in Playa de Coco -
