Surf spots - Playa Avellanes, Playa Negra (sw facing beaches) coming in with chest high to head high conditions. A 220+ is supposed to be coming in on Thursday, however the Navy buoys are showing a slight swell that should bring in head high to double overhead on deep water sw facing beaches and hold through the weekend. Ollie's and Witch's should pick it up and tides are good for noon to six surf outs. 2) Playa Grande picking up nicely with a good head high ride in the early afternoons. 3) Waves have been clean early a.m. and the winds are switching out to onshore in the afternoons causing choppy but some clean wave sets. 5) No new pests but a little red tide being picked up in the bay. 6) The "legends" are coming in! Golf tournament in Rancho Las Colinas Feb. 26-28.

Watch the south facing beaches on Thursday next week as a big 220+ SW comes in with 7+ waves on all south and SW facing beaches. 2) Wave size over the next few days should be waist to head high with some occasional higher sets. 3) Wind direction is mostly offshore in the a.m. and turning to a north side wind in the afternoons. Next week with the South coming in, we should have
steady winds offshore with a switch in the p.m. to southerly. 4) Winds up, waves a little choppy, a.m. is staying clean and glassy. 5) The whales have been spotted and there is a little sea lice in the water. 6) Lots of good surf finally coming in on Friday-next week.

1) There are two excellent places to surf in M.A. For example, Playitas is to the north of M.A. and is small, but has very big waves for surfers with more experience. Another is Playa Espadilla, to the south of M.A., inside the national park, which has smaller waves for those who want to learn or have little experience in the sport. 2) In Playitas the waves appear to be 3 to 4 feet, and Espadilla around 3 feet. 3/4) In the summer, generally it's hot, humid, and sunny with clear skies more so in the morning, and with cool breezes. 5) Mostly there is nothing dangerous, but you need a little caution and prevention, some places can have sea-lice and strong currents 6) On the 18th of February, there will be a Surf Contest in Playitas. They rent boards there. Also happening is the Festival of the Sea in Quepos, from the 18th to the 21st, with carriages, a carnival, and lots of partying.

recomendada para la gente que ya tiene experiencia en el Surf. Luego está Playa Espadilla, al sur de Playas Manuel Antonio, dentro del Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, tiene olas de menor magnitud especial para los que quieren aprender o tienen poca experiencia en ese deporte. 2) En Playa Playitas las olas miden aproximadamente de tres a cuatro pies y en Playa Espadilla las olas son alrededor de dos a tres pies de altura. 3/4) En los meses de verano, generalmente es muy caliente, muy húmedo, con mucho sol y cielo despejado, por las mañanas es mucho más despejado que por la tardes, el viento es suave, con un poco de brisa ideal para cualquier deporte que se desee practicar. 5) Generalmente, no se corre ningún peligro en estás playas, solo se necesita un poco de cuidado y de prevención, los lugareños dicen que se puede encontrar casos aislados de "Hilo de Oro" y corrientes muy fuertes. 6) En cuánto a deportes se refiere, el 18 de Febrero se realizará un Campeonato Nacional de Surf en Playa Playitas. En el lugar rentan tablas de surf, así que si no trae la suya, no se preocupe, aquí la
consigue. También se llevará a cabo el Festival del Mar en Quepos del 18 de Febrero al 21 de Febrero, con carrozas, carnaval y mucha diversión.

Luego está Playa Espadilla, al sur de Playas Manuel Antonio, dentro del Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio, tiene olas de menor magnitud especial para los que quieren aprender o tienen poca experiencia en ese deporte. 2) En Playa Playitas las olas miden aproximadamente de tres a cuatro pies y en Playa Espadilla las olas son alrededor de dos a tres pies de altura. 3/4) En los meses de verano, generalmente es muy caliente, muy húmedo, con mucho sol y cielo despejado, por las mañanas es mucho más despejado que por la tardes, el viento es suave, con un poco de brisa ideal para cualquier deporte que se desee practicar. 5) Generalmente, no se corre ningún peligro en estás playas, solo se necesita un poco de cuidado y de prevención, los lugareños dicen que se puede encontrar casos aislados de "Hilo de Oro" y corrientes muy fuertes. 6) En cuánto a deportes se refiere, el 18 de Febrero se realizará un Campeonato Nacional de Surf en Playa Playitas. En el lugar rentan tablas de surf, así que si no trae la suya, no se preocupe, aquí la
consigue. También se llevará a cabo el Festival del Mar en Quepos del 18 de Febrero al 21 de Febrero, con carrozas, carnaval y mucha diversión.

Check Playa Grande early morning. Ollie's Point and Witch's Rock should pick up the incoming SW on Friday with clean conditions. 2) Waves are waist to head high and should go to overhead by Sat. on South and SW facing beaches. High-tide Thur. - 5:17am and 5:30 pm. It's a big and fast turn in the tide, but early in the water for a dawn patrol surf out! 3) Weather is awesome - winds blowing steady offshore all day. Gusts coming in at 40 knots which is blowing some of the surf down. 4) Waves are staying glassy with some backwash due to the winds. 5) We have no pests....6) Talk is going around for a "legends" surf contest in June or July.

2. Looking at head high on beach breaks and reef breaks should hold at high high +, for the next few days. 3. Weather conditions are excellent with warm waters and cool nights. We've got lots of wind in the am offshore and getting an onshore from the North or South in the afternoons. Best time to surf -am with high tide at 11:30am on Friday. 4. Waves are clean with the offshores and then getting blown out by late morning, the onshore switch is generating choppy surf in the afternoons. 5. a few agreesive surfers reported in Playa Grande. 6. Big music weekend in Tamarindo!!!! Superbowl Sunday....We should have a good push from a NW by Monday.

Mire por olas hasta la cabeza y sobre a todos las playas y arrecifes para los días proximos. 3. La clima es excelente, con aguas cálidos y noches casualidades. Tenemos mucho viento en la mañana de "offshore" y recibiendo un viento "onshore" del norte o sur en las tardes. El mejor tiempo para surfeando es en las mañanas, con marea alta a 11:30 en viernes. 4. 1. The best place in our area to surf is a reef break 100 meters south of Jaguar Hotel. 2. Good waves today estimated at 7 feet. 3. The wind throughout the day is from the northeast. We had an early morning rain and strong winds during the early morning. 4. Waves are slightly turbulent. 5. no water pests 6. Jaguar's normal rates are $55 and $70 for a double room, but we have a surfer special of $150 for a 4 day stay for a double room.

El ángulo no es bueno a Salsa pero las olas pueden ser surfeado. Tambien, la playa esta rompiendo en el arrecife afuera cerca de la isla.

A SW has picked up bringing in head high surf at exposed west facing beaches. Playa Nosara, Mal Pais, Playa Negra, Witch's Rock for the head-high plus surf and longboarding sets in Tamarindo Bay that should hold until Friday. A NW tries to approach the coast late Saturday hopefully generating head high surf. Playa Avellanas and Playa Langosta may be the spots to watch over the weekend.
2. Expect chest high to 2 + overhead at all breaks picking up the SW. If the WNW comes in on Saturday - surf should stay head high at most west exposed breaks. 3. The weather is cool and the winds are staying offshores in the am and switching to variable and/or onshore from the south west in the afternoons. High tide on Thur. - is at 5:14am and 5:41pm. Rotating every 6 hours + 46 mintues. 4. With the offshores waves are smooth with occassional blown down faces as the winds pick up around 11:00am and then switching to onshore with bumpy but surfable waves in the afternoon. 5. A few jellyfish have been spotted. Keep your feet on the board!!! 6. Monkey Bar Best Western - live Buzz Thompson and the Blues Revue on Saturday night. It's a party. If the SW holds Friday may be good at Ollie's Point. Catch a boat and surf a Point Break!!!!

Un swell norteoeste trata venir sabado en la tarde, esperamente generando olas headhigh. Avellanas y Langosta son los lugares a mirar este fin de samana. 2. Anticipe olas hasta el pecho a dos pies sobre-cabeza a todos playas recibiendo el swell suroeste. Si el swell ONO viene sabado, las olas mantendran. 3. Playa Grande and Playa Negra will pick up late on Wed. and should hold until Thurs. when a new nw swell should start coming in. NW swell - Beaches to check - Langosta, Tam. Rivermouth & Playa Avellannes. 2. Wed and Thursday chest to head high on the sw, by late Friday swell should switch out to nw bringing in head high sets to exposed beaches. Swell should hold until Tuesday. 3. Cool with water temps in the high 70's. Winds holding offshore throughout the day with occassional shifts due to passing clouds. 4. Offshore winds are keeping the waves clean and glassy. Early morning surf will not be coming in until Monday. 5. We still have a few sea lice in the area, but a little limon will take care of it. 6. Live music throughout the month in Tamarindo.

Night surf at Terraza del Pacifico this weekend and I just got a batch of brand new Eerie Peeples funboards in the shop. Stop by and check them out.

Playa Grande and Playa Negra will pick up late on Wed. and should hold until Thurs. when a new nw swell should start coming in. NW swell - Beaches to check - Langosta, Tam. Rivermouth & Playa Avellannes. 2. Wed and Thursday chest to head high on the sw, by late Friday swell should switch out to nw bringing in head high sets to exposed beaches. Swell should hold until Tuesday. 3. Cool with water temps in the high 70's. Winds holding offshore throughout the day with occassional shifts due to passing clouds. 4. Offshore winds are keeping the waves clean and glassy. Early morning surf will not be coming in until Monday. 5. We still have a few sea lice in the area, but a little limon will take care of it. 6. Live music throughout the month in Tamarindo.

2. Para viernes en la tarde, el swell cambia a norte-oeste trayendo olas hasta su cabeza a las playas expuestas. Swell debe mantener hasta martes 3. Casualidad con tempuraturas de agua en los 70's F. Vientos "offshores" y cambiando con las nublados 4. limpia y vidrioso. No surf temprano hasta lunes. 5. Un poquito ellos de oro, pero limon ayuda. 6. Música viva en Tamarindo todo el mes.

Papagayo winds are holding throughout the day with some strong winds
early afternoons 2. Playa Avellanes and Playa Negra. Playa Grande should
pick up the north wrap and have good condtions. The famous T-Bay rivermouth
should have good surf. 3. Waist to head high and should stay consistenly
headhigh+ with the North swell. 4. It's been clean, glassy barrel waves and
should continue thru Saturday. 5. A few sea lice have been in the water due
to the extreme high and low tides. High tides are coming in at 9+ and low
-0.5. It's fast!!!! High tide in Tamarindo on Thur. 6:30 am. 6. More
surfers, more fun.
