TIDES *for Friday - add 50 min. each day after

Low Tide - .43 ft. at 11:10 AM
High Tide - 7.98 ft. at 5:26 PM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Traces of a WSW arrive Sunday, pushing the surf
up a foot to head high, but still a little junky. Then by
Tuesday it grows another foot with a few bigger sets and by
Wednesday it's 1-2 foot overhead, super clean in the early
mornings with a midmorning high tide. I would like to see
what T-Bay is doing with this swell angle, as well as
Ollie's and Matapalo! WSW starts dropping Thursday, and by
Friday waves recede to head high for next weekend, with the
swell angle coming more from the South.

Caribbean - Copy and paste from last week, no surf to
mention - just nice conditions for snorkeling and enjoying
the fun activities on the beach and on the rivers.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:
Waves this week in the Tamarindo area have been about waist
high. The days begin with off-shore winds which generally
last until late morning and have begun to occasionally
switch back.
tarde.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a
This weekend looks like it will bring small waves, so get
your long board. The winds are predicted to be less
cooperative than they have been, but with the high tides at
sunrise/sunset, early birds should catch some morning surf.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor
I recommend Langosta for this weekend. It picks up the
south pulse better than Tamarindo. Recommiendo Langosta

DOMINICAL & SOUTHERN PACIFIC

** From Greg at the Adventure Education Center in
Dominical-

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:
Surf has been junky at most times of the day, with winds
switching onshore early due to showers along the coast. At
the right tide mix, the chest to head high sets have a
little form for a quick cover up and a couple of snaps.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a
West southwest swell fills in a little on Sunday and then
stronger next week (Wednesday)

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor

Low Tide - 1.5 ft. at 7:05 AM
High Tide - 7.73 ft. at 1:11 PM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - Dropping SSW swell for the weekend, with surf
from 1-2 overhead Friday afternoon, down to chest to head
high by Sunday. Through next week, the surf stays smaller
(in the chest to head high range) but fun, with high tides
in the late afternoon bringing some juice. Winds have been
shifty in the south, but more consistently offshore up
north. Waves stay consistent through next weekend but
nothing magnificant, maybe some nice dawn patrols at your
local beachbreak.

Caribbean - This coast is still in the flats, maybe a
little relief arriving next Tuesday, with some waist high
peelers at the better beachbreaks. Bring your snorkel gear.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:
The surf has been through a lot of changes this week--it
started out big, went flat and today the rivermouth was
head high and pitching tubes. The wind is staying off shore
until midday and the beach between the lifeguard stand and
the estuary was giving some folks nice rides instead of the
customary close outs.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a
Looks like a great weekend for the incoming tides.
Hopefully the swell that arrived today will keep us
paddling for a few more days.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor
Anywhere! The Suizo had waves today, the rivermouth, the
beach break, Langosta, Grande, Avellanas...you can't go
wrong!
equivocar!

** From Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -
The surf has been really really good. Even in Tamarindo
there have been barrels (yes, overhead offshore conditions
too). This week has been awesome, very little crowds and
great overall waves. Ollie's has been EPIC. oh god.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -
This swell that is running yesterday/today will decrease
this weekend, followed by another one on Sunday. If all
goes as planned, surf won't drop below head-high at Witch's
or Ollie's. Conditions have been ideal (even Tamarindo has
been going off)

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -
Ollie's Point, on this south swell, is pumping. Find a way
to get there.

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS-
WRSC Holloween party Oct.31................boo!

** From Steve at Tropico Latino Lodge in Santa Teresa (Mal
Pais)

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS:
Swell has come up a little with some head high sets this
evening but it remains disorganised despite the lack of
rain. On the upside, no crowds.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND:
Swell from SW should build - hopefully coupled with cleaner
conditions.

BEST PLACE TO SURF IN YOUR AREA THIS WEEKEND:
Beachbreaks - top end of Sta Teresa and Playa Carmen

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - South swell arrives Sunday midday with surf one
foot overhead with a 16 second period. Gets better in the
afternoon and best Monday morning before starting to drop
off next Tuesday. Wednesday it's back in the chest to head
high range, but more swell from the SW pushes it back
overhead by Thursday and into the weekend.

Caribbean - A pulse from a nearby tropical system hitting
Nicaragua gives the coast surf in the waist to chest range,
but only stays until Sunday. Afterwards, another four days
of knee to waist fun clean surf. Enjoy Carnival in Limon!!!

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:
With the extremely high new moon tides this week and little
swell, Tamarindo hasn't had much more than a little shore
break. There have been fun little mid tide longboard waves
in the late mornings, but in the afternoons super high
tides and onshore winds have been the usual. It's been a
gorgeous week weather- wise.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a
Keep Sunday morning open, because it looks like we have
waves on the way starting then. The tide ought to be just
right to run out and catch a few while the morning sun
shines and the morning off shores blow!

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor
As these predicted waves will be coming from the
south/southwest, Langosta should be the best place in town
to cath them, Playa Grande if you can travel.
mejor lugar agarrarlas, o Playa Grande si puedes viajar.

** From Joe at Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS -
Amidst this so-called "rainy season", we in Tamarindo have
seen hardly any rain. Its been sunny, the conditions have
been really clean with offshore winds, some glassy
conditions too. The surf in tamarindo hasn't been much to
talk about, small longboard waves, while Ollie's Point has
been absolute FIRING the last three days. Trips have been
staying at Ollies all day long, conditions offshore with
overhead set waves and nobody out...got to love this time
of year.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) -
We are waiting for a due south, planned to hit on Saturday
October 12th (happens to be the date of WRSC Tamarindo's
next party....hmmmm) Surf should get 2-3ft overhead plus at
Ollie's, we can't tell yet if the swell is too south to get
to Witch's Rock. This swell is going to hit us in spurts,
expect stories of some beaches being waist high, others
being double overhead (Negra, Grande, Ollie's). No ones
going to be here to surf it, either.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA -
Ollie's is the only sure bet, then Negra and Grande.
Anywhere that gets a deep south swell (secret spots...)

NEWS AND UPCOMING EVENTS-
WRSC Tamarindo hosting two parties: #1 Sat. Oct. 12th, WRSC
Birthday party for Roach, Luke, and Johan #2 Thur. Oct
31st, WRSC HOLLOWEEN PARTY. Wear your best costume for
added effect, anyone wearing the generic "surfer" costume
will be pointed out and laughed at = no friends. be
creative.

QUEPOS & MANUEL ANTONIO

** From David at Escuela D'Amore in Manuel Antonio -

** From Greg at the Adventure Education Center in

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

TIDES *for Friday - add 50 min. each day after

High Tide - 8.43 ft. at 6:04 AM
Low Tide - .95 ft. at 12:15 PM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - A SSW with a 12-13 sec. period takes the stage
this Saturday, late afternoon - with waves growing from
overhead to some 1-3 foot + overhead sets pegging the main
South facing beaches for Sunday and Monday. Early morning
high tides mean lots of water moving around, so find a nice
sandbar on the lower tides if the wind's not on it. Lots of
afternoon storms playing games with the wind, so watch the
weather into next week, as this swell fades out by Monday
and by Tuesday, surf returns a perfect head high and glassy
at dawn session. Next Wednesday through Friday hold the
same and another SW arrives for next weekend, sending
overhead surf from down under.

Caribbean - A 9 sec. period NE swell that has given the
right coast a little relief will gasp out by Saturday
afternoon, with some leftover chest to head high sets. By
Monday, the surf returns to waist high and by Wednesday
goes back to almost flat.

AREA REPORTS

NICOYA (N)

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:

The south swell accompanied by a south wind gave us a week
of huge messy waves. Langosta reportedly had the best
morning surf at Sapos with waves well overhead and fairly
clean until the winds picked up. Capitan Suizo was the
break of choice at chest to shoulder high with the south
wind being off-shore. The swell is diminishing as the week
progresses.
off-shore. El swell se disminuye mientras la semana
progresa.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

North winds are predicted for this weekend, which are
better than south winds for most of Tamarindo. The swell
passes and leaves us with our typical waist to chest surf
which will be better the earlier you get to it.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor

Playa Grande should be really great in the early mornings
with the incoming tide and the left-over of the swell. In
Tamarindo, the rivermouth should be good near mid-tide and
the Langosta rivermouth near low tide. Playa Grande sera
baja.

* From Louis at Hotel Las Tortugas in Playa Grande -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y
condiciones:

We have been enjoying constant swell between overhead and a
half and double over head for over a week now. Different
spots have been ridable at various tides and wind
conditions. The early morning sessions have been productive
the last few mornings. With no real off shores, patience is
the key with an occassional perfect glassy wave.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

The size is right for the main peak over the weekend with
early morning tides.

BEST PLACE TO SURF THIS WEEKEND IN YOUR AREA - El mejor

Out front if it's not too messy and Tamarindo and points
south if it is.

* From Steve at Tropico Latino Lodge in Santa Teresa (Mal
Pais)

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS & CONDITIONS:

Swell has now dropped after the excitement of the weekend.
It's shoulder high out front this morning, clean but a
little disorganised. Weather is perfect - sunny days and
downpours at night.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND:

More swell. Should be around 5' for the weekend.

BEST PLACE TO SURF IN YOUR AREA:

Providing it stays clean, Playa Carmen should be good in
the morning around high tide.

TIDES *for Friday - add 50 min. each day after

Low Tide - 1.12 ft. at 8:11 AM
High Tide - 8.32 ft. at 2:19 PM

NATIONAL FORECAST

Pacific - One SW swell drops off Sunday afternoon from 1-2
foot overhead surf down to chest to head high on Monday.
Then another swell fills in from the WSW, hitting the
Nicoya peninsula with solid overhead surf that last all
week. Best spot is Ollie's or Nicaruaga for sure. The
direction slowly changes to more from the South by Friday,
but size stays in the overhead range with a few bombers
arriving every 15 minutes. A freak NW pushes in some chest
high bumps on Thursday that will either A-frame the sets
out, or double them up. Overhead surf stays in the forecast
through next weekend.

Caribbean - The wave juice is being sucked up by tropical
storms in the Gulf and out past the Bahamas, leaving the
beautiful beaches flat and the water super-clean for other
water sports. If you want Gulf waves, go to Texas!

** From Diana at Robert August Surf Shop in Tamarindo -

AREA WAVE HEIGHTS AND CONDITIONS - Tamano de las olas y

The week started out with some beautiful morning sessions
with light off-shores. By 9 or 10 the wind is going
on-shore and continuing through out the day. Wave size is
about waist to shoulder high, depending where and when go.
Right now rain and on-shore winds have created a lot of
disorganization and chop.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS WEEKEND (weather and waves) - Que va a

We're expecting to see a considerable jump in wave size
this weekend, but due to the temporal, on-shore winds will
be a problem. The sea should be calmest in the early
morning when the tide is low. Estamos esperando un aumento

the size will grow another 1-2 feet throughout the day with
the incoming tide. By Monday, it will be huge, double
overhead with an 16 second period with a background chest

Swell drops off by Wednesday, back to head high with bigger
sets, but a second SW pushes in Thursday with waves 1-2
foot overhead which will last through next Saturday. More
overhead southerly swell planned the following week.

Caribbean - The Caribbean side will be very flat. If you
